There are people in the world who would look at my payslip just as aghast. You just live up to your means don't you. I'd guess more than half the world if not three-quarters simply can't imagine having enough money to own a small house in Berkshire and drive a Toyota estate and buy a nice bottle of Shiraz whenever they fancy it. But once you've reached the giddy heights of that sort of wealth it seems normal.

Yes and I'd be astonished if Carlos Tevez was a PAYE taxpayer. But 7 million a year is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 150k a week which is realistic for the Premier league so the numbers check out. Fake or not, then, the question still stands.

Me too.....until I just checked my own payslip, and there's no currency units on that.

Could be the standard FA fine for yellow cards? I think that starts at £15 for a yellow card, and goes up incrementally (with add-ons, where the FA sees fit). This is universal throughout football be it Sunday league or the highest level

He joined Manchester City in the summer of 2009.

At the top it says MC Ltd. 08/09, then below it says month 12.

If he joined in August 2009, wouldn't month 12 be March 2010 ?

I'm just loving that rather than turning into a bitching session about player salaries, the BCF analysis team has turned up and focused the microscope payslipward...

The wage slip is from March 2010 - look at the date. Given that it's only March, it's entirely possible (likely) that they just haven't updated the bit that says 08/09. That's free text, so it could say whatever they wanted.

Things like the tax code look correct, plus any photoshopper would have corrected the 08/09 bit, so I vote definitely 'real'. Thumbs Up

At least he's not tax dodging like a lot of people..! He earnt £750k that month and £330k went straight to the government.

It looks like one of my pay slips. I can't see why anyone would bother faking it? Well done to the bloke for being good enough to earn that sort of money.

I'd say:

1) footballers (and filmstars/singers/celebrities) get paid too much
2) it's the fans' fault for agreeing to pay so much to see them
3) taxes are far too high

That may be so, but he'll never have to worry about the rising costs of a tank of fuel, a weekly shop, a pack of cigs, a night out, or taxing his vehicles.

If paying a large amount of income tax was the price to pay for NEVER EVER having to be bothered about the above items, then I wouldn't fucking moan because let's be honest, never having to worry about those things mean you've pretty much found the rainbow's end.
