The grainyness of the picture suites the bike, makes it look like it's back in the 80's Very Happy

Don't get tempted to try and mod it to go faster, nor tempted to go that bit too fast in the shit weather! both can have a very detrimental effect on the bikes value and take a big wet shit on your capital for your next bike Wink

I'm a fan of "period upgrades" for older bikes. So sticking on bits that the race bike would have had back in the day is nice Thumbs Up

Hi

Looks nice, but looks like the braided hoses have alloy fittings. If so get rid of them quickly!

All the best

Reason is that the alloy fitting can crack easily, and they don't need to be that old to crack. Like this or worse this

All the best

Aye but having total brake failure after a couple of years from new tends to make the the looks rather less important.

Hi

Standard ones are steel, and aftermarket ones vary between plated steel (cadmium or chrome), stainless steel, titanium or (suicidally) alloy.

Stainless is probably the best for how long it lasts. Titanium will probably cost you a fortune. Plated steel isn't bad but will eventually corrode.

All the best

Keith

2nd on the shopping list will have to be a pressure washer or you'll get very sick of cleaning those wheels very quickly!

Miss my old FZR400, mine wasn't like yours (3TJ) it was an EN1, fun little screamer, loved ringing it's neck! My shock died through owning it and it used to bounce in the bends making it a bit leary but it added to the enjoyment.

great choice of bike Very Happy

defo get rid of those blue and red connector things, belive it or not they used to use those fittings in the hot rod era of the 60's~ as FUEL pipe fittings!

I like that model of FZR with those tow little red eyes in a normal housing, just those little things.

they corner like anything, first time I took my 86 out I was draging the pegs Shocked
