Hi

Some days i ride to work and to me, its perfect and you wish you were on the test. Great balance behind traffic, bit of filtering etc enjoyable ride.

And some days i use the same route, same traffic conditions etc but ride like a fuckin spaz. Wobbly as hell at low speed and putting both feet down. The bike feels completely different. No chance to filter. Cant wait to get to work... already look forward to the ride home, but had enough for now.

Or is it just me?

It just is. A monday when I ddint rider the weekend I always ride worse.

It is like shooting. Miss a few days and your feel is out.

Days I feel out I take it easy. When Im in the groove I filter and hit 150 kmh in town. It is a question of getting a feel of your guardian angels that day and not out riding them. Mr. Green

Only when the gearbox plays up and makes me look a bigger Gumpy Fucker than i do already, thats some serious mis geared gumpiness right there, usually in full view of girls who at least pre gear change, had some semblance of respect for me. Crying or Very sad

Think I would be more worried if every day panned out exactly as every other.

Yeah I noticed it more recently though as I've had a reason to ride, coming to a stop I'd be slightly off balance so stumble with feet, approach a roundabout in second move on and the bike slows down to a slow walk.

To think about it though that is where the fun is if every day was exactly the same life would be boring, you need problems to learn. You are always learning and its the same with a bike.

My confidence goes up and down. Some days, usually Mondays, like Kradmelder, my confidence is low. I'm more wobbly, less inclined to go for that gap, etc. I just take it easy. Ride with the traffic and enjoy the scenery.

I also have to be wary of the days in which my confidence is too high, when I feel I'm Rossi. Unsurprisingly, I have more close calls on those days. My first serious off was on one of those days. I tipped into a corner like I owned it and just kept on tipping...

I think part of becoming an experienced rider is learning to read your self as well as the road.

Everyday is different, some days I just feel like a learner and some days it all comes together and I feel like I could ride all day.

God yes, some days (mostly dry days I find) you're grinning like an idiot leaning into corners like a track day (Feels like it but actually not leaning more than a few degrees from vertical!)

Other days you make a few mistakes, fluff every gear change and ride like you feel the bike is going to fly out from under you if you so much as fart the wrong direction. I usually find that I get quite conscious that every other road user is looking at me thinking, "Jesus who the hell let that mongtard out on the roads, is he even legal?"

That's life. Hum yourself a song in your helmet and calm the fuck down, works for me.

Don't sweat it. It happens to the most experienced riders too. Some days you just aren't performing at your best; it might be down to tiredness, stress, something playing on your mind or just confidence. The thing is to recognise that you're riding below your normal standard and adjust to it. Slow down a bit to give yourself more thinking time and try to relax a bit.

Absolutely. Went out for a proper night time hack last night, and realized how badly I've deteriorated....

Few corners I'd normally hit back in the summer at about 75-85mph, I was hitting at a max of 60.

It's my confidence, it's been knocked badly by this awful rear tyre, It "squidges" on roundabouts, and generally feels terrible in the wet/damp. Dunlop it is.....

And It's not just that, It's the extra layers like thermal base layers, and winter inner linings, that restrict movement and make it much harder to bob about on the bike.

Ughh... I want summer back.

i've been riding since March. Up until about two months ago I would have the occasional off day but lately not. I say this though having just failed my Mod2 after the worst ride since my CBT.

MZ125 totaly cool bike. I would be hunting for the 250 if I hadn't failed my Mod2 today Smile

Definitely, especially if I haven't used it for a while. I go round the block a couple of times first to 'get the feel' again before going out somewhere properly.
