Where to go... (Car not bike)

I'm building my academy caterham now - it's much harder work than expected. Mainly due to the manual being more of a vague guide and all of the parts being spread randomly throughout the various boxes.

I had further bad news in finding out I'm banned from Blyton until after the first sprint race. I was going to use the track for 'testing' as it's £60 for a half day and flat as anything in all directions in case I run off.

So, I need an alternative track. Preferably cheap! The car is based south of Leeds, what are my options?

Not much around here unfortunately. Presumed there would be more than around Reading - but turns out that was an airfield not far off where I did live.
Think they're still running trackdays at Elvington if you want a nice flat and run-off friendly track?

Do some googling of your local RAF bases, there's a lot of car and bike clubs out there, often not particularly well advertised.

Well, I've had a bit of a look round and there's nothing particularly great nearby. Was really hoping for something cheap just for initial shakedown testing.

Such a git about Blyton though - they're on the lookout for Academy cars supposedly, -10 championship points for using the circuit before hand.


In good news - my profile's up on the Caterham site - https://profiles.caterham.co.uk/ (Academy car number 69 ). Starting to feel a little bit like a real racing driver. All I need is a license now...

Elvington in Norfolk most of the track days there are run by Javalin track days

Or Snetterton is good as well i am running a day on the 300 on 17-02-13 £129 full day OPL and garages included etc and tuition

or Oulton park on 22-02-13 again £129 for a full day

get in touch if you just want a few hours on track and i will sort out a £ deal.
