DD stolen in Paul Street London

My black 750 Dorsoduro was stolen yesterday Reg LK08 OCM between 12.00pm and 16.50pm

It was disc locked, no sign of lock so probably chucked in a van
I have parked in the same bay for nearly 2 years and today they saw fit to nick mypride and joy.

Roaditalia exhaust (carbon)
Tail tidy
Rear hugger
and 48T gold rear sproket.

Long shot I know but if you see it PM me
Cheers

Was literally just about to post this one of the bays you park has a camera pointing at it I couldn't see any others (it's the bay by the gym opposite Clere Street.)

Pride and joy and one disclock Rolling Eyes

My bikes worth about 1200 quid, and i would not leave it for more than 2 mins with a disclock.

I try to vary where I park when possible, whoever took it has probably been watching it for a couple of days

It's about practicality too - I just have a disc lock and an alarm but I leave my bike parked up in London all day.
Unless I physically lock it to a piece of street furniture (which is not possible every day) then regardless of how many chains I have fitted to it, it won't stop the bike being lifted into the back of a van.

(Edit - I also have a DIY tracker using my old Android handset - so if it was put into a van I can see the route it took (based on GPS/WiFi/Cell location - whichever is the most accurate at the time) - plus I get an Email if the bike leaves a geo-fence that I've setup)

Well on it's way to Eastern Europe by now.

People need to start looking at themselves for for all the shit that they let into this nation. We are fast turning into a third world slum where nothing is ever safe.

I used to think if fully comp and standard ish bike, then fuck it disclock ... but since learning about insurance shafting non faulters ....

I should add, im tpo Smile

Maybe the amount of high end bikes nicked in London now, and or more people doing it, means sub 5 k bikes left as such are now fair game 2.

This is also why I specifically removed all 'security' devices from my insurance policy - it didn't affect my premium _at all_ - but it removes any wriggle room, they can't ever claim I didn't lock it up, because it's not a requirement of my policy - the fact I lock it up is now discretionary rather than compulsory.

^^^ This ^^^

My insurers don't need to know I have 3 disc locks (two at home, one at work) Chains and padlocks at home, chain and padlock at work and 2 chains, padlocks and anti pinch pin at the GF house. Oh and a lighter chain and padlock for carrying on the RVF. I use them as I see fit.

I really don't want any of my bikes to be stolen ever again, but I also don't want to give my insurers any more wriggle room than necessary.

+1, fitted a tracker do my old KTM, didn't bother to let the insurers know. They'd probably void the insurance because I fitted it myself instead of paying some bloke in a van £100 to do it.
