Shame, it would have been nice to see how the changes between road types happen.

I failed my Mod2 on Tuesday but it was good to at least get the idea of how a test run goes. I don't believe in learning a test route and its pointless given there's a good chance the examiner will take a diferent route anyway. I'm posting the route I was examined on though just so you can do it and get an idea of how a test route feels and how long it takes. Hope the following helps.

Start at Aberdeen Cove test centre. Ride to wellington rd. At wellington rd T junction go left. Then move onto the right hand lane for going north on A90 then merge onto A90 (this is where I failed the test, too slow on approach to slip road causing hazard to following traffic ).

Exit A90 about 1/2 kilometer along to the right onto a country road, proceed for about a mile then at a crossroad with a few houses on it and an old red phone box and go to the right and proceed along another B rd for about a mile and 1/2 to T junction with B 9077.

Turn right and proceed along legart terrace. At this point I was asked to pull over somewhere safe then instructed to follow signs to the town centre (the independant ride part of the test).

Proceed to roundabout on south of the river Dee. Take seconf exit and proceed to the next roundabout. Take second exit and cross bridge to next roundabout. Take second exit.

Proceed up hill by Duthie Park to next roundabout. Take first exit.

Proceed to roundabout and take second exit. Proceed along Holburn St to junction with Great Western Rd and turn left onto GW rd.

Proceed along GW Rd (again asked to pull over about 1/2 mile along and then told to follow signs for perth and dundee). Proceed to junction with Anderson drive Turn left onto Anderson Drv.

Proceed down Anderson Drv all the way to the stonehaven rd and head south on A90.

Once on A90 open throttle when you hit NSL sign (this is the bit examiner expects NSL speed. Proceed and take exit to wellington rd about 3/4 mile past petrol station.

Once on wellington rd move to right lane then turn off to right at lights and go back to the test centre.

I hope this is useful. Just to ride this route will take about 3/4 hour and gives a good idea of what kind of riding is expected. Practice the pulling up on the side of the road as well because this put me off my stride more than I would have expected.

I don't think there are test routes any more - the examiner can take you where he want.

I'm posting so folks can get an idea of what a route would be like.
