In the past week or so, my bike has become more and more wobbly. By that I mean that the handle bars feel like they are going over small bumps or stuck in one of those road ruts (where your bike suddenly gets led in another random direction, usually pointing you across on coming traffic or something stupid).

Does anyone have any idea why this might be? My tyres are definatly wearing very thin, and I'll be changing them at the end of the month. Would this account for the wobbliness? I've had an MoT just 3 months ago whee the wheel bearings were changed, so I'm pretty sure it's nothing like that.

Any help's good help! Smile

Thanks guys!

Probably front tyre pressure - check it.

Could be the head bearings too.

Tyres, head bearing, wheel bearings, loose spindle (unlikely, but it happened to me), bent wheel/forks. All worth checking out, but it sounds to me that you'd best get them new tyres asap.

Agreed mate, kind of wish that I didn't spend this months pay cheque on alcohol now Mad d'oh!

Thanks for all the advise guys, I'll check all of that out when I get home, especially the tyre pressures. That's something that had completly slipped my mind. (What a peanut) Rolling Eyes

you mention that the tyre is well worn, with colder roads this will also cause it

i would certainly get wheel checked out, sounds like an off balance wheel to me..

Firstly - aqua, your avatar is fecking scary!

On a more relevent note, it seems McJam was right. Somehow, for at least a few days I've managed to - completly oblivious - ride around with a half deflated tyre! Shocked. I mean, not just a bit flat, but so flat that if i push the tyre with my hand i can push it in.

Time to get a new tyre/inner tube me thinks. What a tit! Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the advise guys, you may have quite litrally, saved my ass.
