Will a garage that MOTs cars have the ability to MOT bikes or is it more specialised?

Pretty sure the garage I get my MOT from, does it at a car garage behind them as they are the ones who have the MOT station...
It's a bike mechanic that does the MOT though.

But it's up to the individual tester I guess, go in and ask them Thumbs Up

If they want more than £30 for it, tell em to do one Razz
£29.65 is the maximum they can charge for a Motorcycle MOT (assuming it doesn't have a side car)

Just as clarification it's a different mot qual for bikes. Some may have both of course but it is different.

Does nobody actually speak to real people anymore and ask this stuff directly?

Phone your local garages and ask.

I phoned the garage I use for my cars and they don't, I was finding out if that's the same across the industry from people's experiences.

Fucking mong.

There is only one place I know of that definitely does bike and car MOT's together and they only do bikes because the owner likes them and they want to be able to say they are a one stop MOT centre.

Otherwise your usual backstreet motorcycle dealer is the best bet.

Bike places have more of an incentive to fail you and sell parts/repair work to you I find. There are many drive-in type MOT centres that also do bikes, I've found them to be the easier places to get a pass - bike shops often know too much about bikes! Just ring around OP.

Depends really, at my local 'big' place because they aren't bike specialists they always insist your brake pads are low even if they are brand new.

Funnily enough I took my Divvy in for an MOT and it was failed as the small local bike shop I normally use had fitted the rear tyre on with the rotation arrow facing in the wrong direction! I should have noticed it myself but still...Other than that it passed.

It is rarely advertised that a place does bike MOTs. Where I take mine mostly does HGVs, came across the bike MOT bit by accident.
