Is what should be offered by the police towards these guys:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-20555116

Let them get on with it. Why prosecution is on the cards I have no idea!

So i presume they are going to put depth posts on all roads likely to be flooded and a maximum depth that is permitted to be driven through.

If it had a snorkel it could possibly be driven with water up to the top of the screen.

I absolutely don't get it, someone risked their property by driving through a flood. Seems fine to me. I've ridden in 3-4' monsoon water along with hundreds of others. I just don't understand the fear and even more so the nanny state that tries to preclude them from such activities. All through the video I was thinking 'nice driving', not 'what a ruffian' - there was controlled, speed constant revs, generally a show of how it should be done. People should be shown this and told 'MTFU this is how you do it' rather than 'stop being irresponsible'.

They are turning the population into unthinking tards

Do as you are told. If it has killed someone in the last 10 years then what you are doing is likely to bring you a fine due to the potential risk you may have caused to kittens or yourself.

The police, as ever, feeling the need to display to every member of the public how dey is expert on everyting, innit and so very very important and special.

"Ooh, gosh...is you a police-officer?! Can I...touch you?"

Fuck off, you uniformed tossers. Ye who wouldn't go into a lake to rescue a man "cos it was 'gainst health & safety, innit". https://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr356/Langnasen7/wanker.gif

Am I missing something or is not a land rover (I'm assuming defender as just read bbc link not seen viseo) designed to do that sort of stuff?

True, normally driven by a squaddie but farmers also, especially some I've seen in Scotland, would thing that normal and acceptable.

But the driver wasn't a police-officer and highly trained and...and...all special and important and qualified.

I recall being on Beachy Head when a young asian student threw himself over. The rescue squad came to recover the body...and the police, who immediately ordered all members of the public to leave the area. I refused and was approached by an officer who wanted to know why I wouldn't leave. I told him I was interested in watching the rescue-squad's technique and equipment. I then asked him why the public were told to leave. "The body might be a bit messy and people could be distressed." I lolled. Rolling Eyes

The police at anything...ego first, front and center. Patronising wankers of the first degree who nine times out of ten couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. And god help any member of the public who can and tries to do so. Driving a Landy through flood-water? HOW VERY DARE YOU!!!

And woe betide any decent bystander who makes a good stab of taking care of things until the pork turns up. It's a certainty the samaritan will be treated like a criminal.

But...but...only the police are qualified to render assistance! Unless it's against health & safety.

It's a Defender and with snorkel kit (i.e. air intake at roof level) it can safely wade in 5 feet of water.
That is a long stretch though and must have been close to the limit in places.
You'd need weight in the back or it would tend to float..

The real risk is losing traction and getting swept sideways e.g. crossing a deep ford.
That appears to be a road alongside the river so if they know it well the risk of being swept off the road is minimal.

It's illegal to refer to it as "Christendom". It's racist. The correct term is "Diversity-rich-region".

I fail to see how that was dangerous.

Don't people in Norfolk have webbed feet and gills anyway?
