He's not selling a bike, he's not even saying that it's a runner. It's a fantasy object that you'll lock up, fret about, and occasionally go and visit with a box of tissues for a "rub down".

I don't see what the issue is. Sure it's a bit expensive, but it's up to the seller to decide how much he or she wants for their bike, and if that prices people out of the market, the bike won't sell.

I *think* I've seen this listing before - one of my mates has a UK NC30 and looked at this one before he bought his. There's not much doubt of the quality and authenticity of the bike and if it's the same guy, he told my mate about when he bought another UK NC30 just so he could put the number plate hanger from the bike (which was otherwise ropey) onto the 'good' one.

UK bikes are different to Jap spec, and as such, people do pay more for authentic originals. If you want a bike to razz about on, and having a genuine UK spec version isn't important, get a grey import and use it. Just be aware that UK bike are different to Jap ones, and have more value to collectors.

I don't see the fascination with these bikes. I had one as a step up from a 125 then used it as a step up to a 750.

Small, slow and old. Just a learner bike really

IMO, beautiful bike. The VFR400's are probably my favourite bike money can buy. But I wouldn't be so potato as to pay £10k for one.

Both probably cheaper to insure than an R1, and there is no need to fuck about and try to turn them into commuters either Thumbs Up

The link alpha posted is fairly relevant. With the spare cash you can easily get the bike in as good condition as the OP's link and have loads of change spare to probably buy an old hack to use in shite weather Laughing

Problem with the above is it assumes the £10k VFR400 will be bought as a bike. It won't, it'll be bought as a collectable for the future (if it does indeed go for anything near that price).
