This is a will and kate thing isn't it.
At least they've reduced the margin of error to 50%.

Apparently announced as she had to be admitted to hospital due to acute morning sickness.

At least the queen doesn't avoid taxes...

Also, they don't receive any money from the public, it all comes from the Duchy of Cornwall. Whether you feel old Charlie should be stripped of all of his inherited land is a different matter.

tl;dr none of us will pay for this kid.

FYI, she's got Hyperemesis Gravidarum - from this site
BBC wrote:
Hyperemesis Gravidarum

It is not uncommon for pregnant women to experience morning sickness, particularly during the first few months of pregnancy.

But some women (around one in every 200) experience severe nausea and vomiting, which continues throughout pregnancy.

This condition is known as hyperemesis gravidarum or HG and needs specialist treatment and often requires a stay in hospital.

The main danger is dehydration - it can be difficult to keep enough fluid down orally.

Doctors can treat HG with medication to help ease the nausea.

HG is unlikely to cause harm to your baby. However, if it causes weight loss during pregnancy there is an increased risk that your baby may be born with a low birth weight.

So it would appear normal people can get this and be admitted to hospital too.

well put it this way his officer's pay certainly won't cover his living costs
his security team probably costs more than his income as a pilot
the public still fund the royals
even if not as much as in the past

*edit

Quote:
The British Royal Family is financed mainly by public money, but there are also a number of private sources of income. The official reported annual cost to the British public of keeping the Royal Family was £41.5 million for the 2008-09 financial year.[1] However, this figure is disputed since it does not include the cost of security provided by the police and the Army, the lost revenues of the Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster and other expenses.

They might just be checking it has an appropriate number of chins and isn't a bleeder before it's too late to do anything about it.

creative accounting

In the last financial year the crown estate paid £240mil to the government. In return the Queen received £31mil. Again saying nothing about rights to the inherited corporation, but before security that's a £209mil benefit to the gov/people. And that's not including the difficult to define benefit to tourism, international politics etc.

Now... If you think the £31mil should stop happening (£36mil next year) then I guess we could return the £7.3bil in assets to the monarchy that was placed in trust? Or just rip up the contract completely?

Royal wedding: marriage will cost economy £5bn (6bn actual but 1bn back in tourist spending)

Utter balls! Spending goes up on bank holidays, money moves around more than a normal week day and productivity goes up pre and post bank holidays.

It's ridiculous creative accounting - and I'm surprised you of all people are believing what you read in the torygraph...

But yes, if you don't include any of the positives and take all the negatives at their highest possible value then you can come up with £6bn. It's quite simple really - divide the UK's GDP by 365 and there you have it. In fact, you can say that way that we lose £12bn every weekend!

That is a seriously big chip you have on your shoulder.

The monarchy is one of the defining features of our country, as is your right to spout this garbage.

the last true Monarchy in the Uk was the house of Stuart, after that it became an inbreeding circle of Euro / russian royalty
