Yeah so i bought a £160 scorpion exhaust and a £100 tool kit to use to fit it.
But there are two bolts that look a tad bit rusty that are seized.
So i asked my local yamaha dealership how much would he charge to undo two seized bolts, then as i predicted he put on his serious face and told me 2 hours worth of labour = £140 Neutral.

So I'm wondering could any of you experienced memebers guide me through the right path... maybe point out a dealership/ product i could go to/ use Smile

I'm sure there are easy ways to do it yourself, but could be worth asking a non yamaha garage. Main dealers prices are nothing short of stupid.

Hang on... your bike was smashed up on November the 21st, and you claimed you were skint until December 8th.

Well, you must have had the world's quickest insurance payout and repair since you then somehow got it running again for your mod 2 on November the 30th.

It's rebooked for "the 8th", which I assume means this Saturday?

And now you've magically found another £260 to put a loud can on your plastic fantastic, just prior to absolutely needing it in running fettle for your test? A bike that you'll doubtless chop in the instant that you get your license?

You are Warped's apprentice, and I claim my £15,000 worth of upside-down welding vouchers.

Why don't you just use an extender bar and a blowtorch(lighter in your case)?

as said, a propane blow torch and an extender for the allen wrench.

heat up the bolts but not to the point they're glowing bright red.

idea is that heat travels down the bush of the bolt and the change in size cracks the rust enough to free the bolt allowing it to be removed.

Those ''bolts'' don't look rusty and it's difficult to establish whether or not they are seized from the picture that you have taken and supplied.

They aren't even remotely rusty - I'm presuming thats not a picture of yours.

Why don't you ask a mod to move this to The Workshop, where it belongs? Or even better, search for 'exhaust stud' in that section.

Then why use it to illustrate a problem that you claim to have when it is not representative of such?

Guilt has clearly compelled you to do it. I hereby dub thee "Hugo".

Aaaaaanway. Have you started feeding in PlusGas or another release agent (not WD40)?

How seized are we talking here? If your butler is trying to get them out with a regular weeny allen key, forget it. Get him to try an allen bit on a 3/8" or 1/2" socket, or get some grips or a length of pipe onto a key.

The other thing to try is get the under footman to give the bolts a good smack, towards the engine. It probably won't free them up, but it'll make you feel all manly, by proxy.

why are you putting an exhaust like that on an r125? They're shit and barely move, plus you'll look like a tit when people hear it and your redlining it doing about 15.

Plus you'll be dropping it like a bag of wet sick when you pass your test.

For similar money I've just bought an NC23 in bits as a race project, couldn't you do something like that instead?

I bought it used... it won't depreciate that much, so if i get a bigger bike or car i will sell it on for like £140... anyway theres a guy i pass regularly on the a23 during rush our and his scorp sounds pretty nice with the baffle out.

the pipe/ wrings/ bolts on the other hand have a bit of surface rust... once i replace them i will give my new pipes a nice spray of ACF/50 once it comes through the post.

Plusgas and some strength (depending how hard they are to remove)

Two tips for you;

1. Next time post into workshop (don't post in here if you only get one reply) bump it after a decent amount of time.

2. In the future take picture/video of your problem;- Go out tomorrow take a picture of the actual nuts you are on about don't use examples off the internet it saves useless replies.

ME = HAPPY BOY

scorp fitted, nice and loud Smile. Buzzing down the high street people turning there heads, cars giving me much more room for me to execute an overtake if safe.

This is all thanks to nice mechanic that i found at a garage literally under nose 2-3 miles away from me. 'Motorcycle surgery' based in streatham. The mechanic removed my seized bolts for free Shocked, so i decided after to let him fit my exhaust as well as he said it would only take him 30 minutes = £25 in labour.

HAPPY DAYS
