Hi, does anyone know of a decent courier to send large items such as fairings? Only really found citylink that will do for around the £10-15 mark but recently they have been really bad. Lost 2 parcels last month, only sent about 6, and after waiting in all day yesterday for the 8am-9pm collection window no one turned up.
So been told its been collected today in another 8am-9pm time frame.
I tend to use MyHermes for everything else because they are cheap, always pick parcels up early. Same driver every time who is real nice chap. Only problem is that they wont take the bigger stuff Sad
Thanks in advance, Grant

Only if he wants it delivered down the road.

OP. The problem is... You are paying £15 and getting a £15 service, no more, no less.

If you want it there in decent time, collected when you want it collected and to ensure it gets there in one piece as intended it's going to cost a hell of a lot more than £15.

Your hermes guy will be getting 50p -£1.20 for collecting parcels. The person the other end will be getting the same. It's quite amazing that any of the stuff they carry actually gets there in one piece.
This is not the reason I won't use hermes. The reason I won't send stuff with them is they are taking the piss out of the people doing the work. If they put up their prices and pay the people delivering the stuff a fair rate I may well use them.

Royal Mail Parcel Force.

It's up to you to secure the parcel so it will will resist expected postal handling.
I doubt if 'couriers' do a better job of 'handling'.

Plenty of bubble and cardboard and marked fragile should be fine.
It's not like the driver will stand on it to reach high up stuff. Smile

I do thank you but 99.9% of people would shit their pants if they called me to get something delivered.

If it absolutely must be collected and/or delivered at a precise time or in the quickest possible time, cannot be lost or damaged in any circumstances, want it tracked to within 50 metres for the duration and the telephone number of the person who has your stuff for delivery and insured at no extra cost for up to £25,000 then please feel free to call me.

If you want it delivered 200 miles away for a tenner then forget it, you pays your money you takes your choice and if it ends up in many bits in the wrong place 10 days later. That is the £10 service you paid for.
