Someone I know works for Social Services. And on their books is an Eastern European family who came over to the south whilst a member of their immediate family was having free health care via our beloved NHS.

Meanwhile, they have got themselves accommodation c/o SS, plus they have enrolled their disabled child into a local school, and in order to get this kid to school they need a car. They have requested and it looks like they are going to get a top of the range, all singing all dancing £18k Honda Civic, disability car (which means they will get free tax, and super cheap insurance)...they are only supposed to be over here for 11months. What happens to the car when they leave...? I doubt very much they will be told to give it back.

Now how can this be so?? They are not even taxpayers, they have NEVER been taxpayers, they don't plan to be taxpayers...it's outrageous, seriously outrageous... Rolling Eyes The message it sends out to others is wrong!!

I don't see why this would be unbelievable. If they're from - or claim to be from - anywhere in the EU, there is the sum total of sod all that can be done to get shot of them. With a spacker kid, health issues, and doubtless no-speaky-Englandish they'll be assigned a case worker to tick all the right "vulnerable" boxes that get them bumped right to the top of the queues.

The motability mobiles really sod me off. The "ooh me back" career claimant couple round the corner are currently in a 2012 Focus C-Max, which they only ever use for half-mile school, chicken nugget and pub runs. Maybe the obese heiffer can't walk because she never does waddle further than from the door to the passenger seat.

I'm sure then you'll be delighted to hear that in my neck of the woods we taxpayers are funding a fleet of brand new Citroen C4s to transport a legion of retired smackheads (recently 'promoted' to disabled deep vein thrombosis sufferers) to the chemist for their methadone.

I comfort myself with the thought that the electrics will likely go haywire half way to getting their fix, and they'll have to catch their usual blue-light taxi instead.

Clanger stop whinging before someone plays the Race of Spades. Your parents fought in the war to bring you this vibrant, cosmopolitan, multicultural* utopia that we live in.

(*insert suitable positively reframed adjective from the 2012 Guardian Annual of PC bullshit)

We fought and defeated communism so our East European comrades can enjoy the full freedoms and benefits that western democracy brings. It's not like their countries have got any oil or other valuable resources for our corporations to steal and cluster bomb them to shit for.

So keep grafting away at your fulfilling career, because let's face it if they weren't claiming they'd be doing your job for a fraction of the price, resulting in higher company profits and a more compliant and subservient workforce in fear of joining the smackheads and losers on the dole, as much as they bitch about everyone on it.

That's why we have economic migrants, it helps keep the corporate peasants in line working for less, so they know their place.

Hmmm, all the smackheads I know of would have sold the cars by now or at least had lots of dodgy claims and schemes on the go. I don't think "Career smack and crackhead, Big Issue seller and robber of anything not nailed down" is an occupational option on insurance proposal forms.

They won't be able to drive their cars much longer anyway after they've lost a leg or two from gangrenous ulcers Very Happy

All the compliments of the season for it seems that doley Santa has come early this year. Ho ho ho Razz
