A bit of a rant about energy suppliers!

I have an elderly aunt, shes 90 years old, her eye site is so bad she is registered blind, her hearing is shot so you really have to get close and talk very loud! she has had a stroke, and she also has breast cancer. (when she told me about her cancer it was like telling me shed got an annoying sore throat) Her mobilty is very poor and she has a stair lift and walks with a zimmer. She lives alone but has carers come in and help her, all which she has to pay for but she'd rather do that than be in a care home. She never moans and is a top old girl. Anyways her road had a few power cuts and her heating is by storage heaters, and the old time clock and switch gear played up. She asked me to sort it so I had to ring her energy company which is British Gas. They sent an engineer out who fitted one of their new digital meters. That night when the off peak board switched on, her RCD tripped. For anyone whos in the trade she has a TT supply and a single RCD protecting both boards. She was stuck upstairs all night and the carer called me in the morning to help out. When I looked at what the engineer had done I rang BG and told them he'd basically messed up and the way he had connected the new meter up had put an imbalance on her trip which was causing the fault. They promised to send an engineer out that day and I had expressed my concern as she was very frail and had no heating and this left her stranded upstairs. I also told them what the fault was and how to sort it.
The engineer turned up looked at the boards, said every thing was fine as the trip was set and she had power and fucked off. Next morning I get a call from Carer, same problem. She had been stuck upstairs all night in the dark with no heating (cunts). So I called BG and had a big rant, and left the Engineer a wiring diagram and a note on the board! I called back at my Aunts on the way home and an engineer was there. He was fitting a contactor so I said its nice to see someone who knows his job. His reply was ''im really sorry about this, I think im the only electrician on our meter team, the rest are just trained up gas engineers and dont really know how RCDs work, This is the 5th one of these ive had to sort out'' He said he also fitted gas meters as he had done their course but its not really his thing as he was an electrician! So thats what GB has come to. Your electricity meter being fitted by a fucking gas engineer.

I was glad to see one of the energy companies, (EDF?), getting heavily fined for deliberately overcharging thousands of customers. I bet a good proportion of these customers hadn't even noticed The problem, is that they will be putting charges up to get the very customers they were ripping off in the first place to pay the fine for them

If I ever was given a month to live, I would love to blow some of these places into smithereens
