Hello everyone! I am a student Shocked at Coventry University and I am designing a motorbike for my final year project and I need to collect information from motorbike riders so I can design the PERFECT motorbike! If you could possibly spare a little of your time to fill out this questionnaire I would be really grateful.

To answer, just put a YES or NO at the end of the question. For written questions please put your answer in the area provided thank you.

1. Are you male or female

2. Do you ride a motorbike?

3. What motorbike do you own?

4. What do you use the motorbike for? (eg. Work, pleasure)

5. If you share the motorbike, whom do you share it with?

6. Do you find the motorbike comfortable all the time?

7. If you answered no, where do find most of your aches and pains? (eg. Hands, back, legs, neck etc…)

8. What do you look for in a motorbike? (eg. Comfort, handling, power, looks etc...)

9. Can you see any problems with current motorbike designs? If so what are they?

Many thanks for filing in my questionnaire, your information will be very very useful in helping me design a motorbike. Thank you again Daniel Firth
Please send to dfirth82@hotmail.com
Just copy and paste the questionnaire into the email. Twisted Evil

Designing a whole motorbike? Impossible if you're going to do it to sufficient detail I would suggest, unless you have about 3 years to do it in. Shocked What course are you on? I might do the questionaire later though, dinner time.

I ride a motorcycle, or a bike.

Technically 'Motorbike' is a very poor term for it really.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

1. Are you male or female /Male

2. Do you ride a motorbike? /Rolling Eyes with my reputation (yes)

3. What motorbike do you own? / Suzuki Goose SG 350 https://singlebeat.gentei.org/catalogue/link/suzuki/img/goose.jpg

4. What do you use the motorbike for? (eg. Work, pleasure) / Both commute to college/mate and hooning

5. If you share the motorbike, whom do you share it with? /If my dad fancies a go he can, but he cant cope with beasty firsts (compared to his ex 33bhp divvy 600)

6. Do you find the motorbike comfortable all the time? / Erm for the most

7. If you answered no, where do find most of your aches and pains? (eg. Hands, back, legs, neck etc…) /

Well being 6 foot 4 on a bike designed for midget japs, my back, legs and knees. But mainly the shooting pains come from my wrists and left hand (stiff clutch)

8. What do you look for in a motorbike? (eg. Comfort, handling, power, looks etc...) / Handling mainly, but power is nice

9. Can you see any problems with current motorbike designs? If so what are they?

Too many underseat exhausts, not enough flush indicators. Plus more built in steering dampers needed. And shorter gearing (more wheelies, less topend!!!!)

1. Are you male or female
Male

2. Do you ride a motorbike?
[pedant]No, I ride a motorcycle[/pedant]

3. What motorbike do you own?
I own a '99 GSX600F
https://www.mcpoolen.se/images/mc-suzuki-99-gsx600f-gul.gif

4. What do you use the motorbike for? (eg. Work, pleasure)
Both

5. If you share the motorbike, whom do you share it with?
n/a

6. Do you find the motorbike comfortable all the time?
No

7. If you answered no, where do find most of your aches and pains? (eg. Hands, back, legs, neck etc…)
After about 30 minutes I start to get lower back pain. My back isn't great as it is. This is not a result of motorcycling, but it doesn't help. I shift position often which ends up hurting my arms and shoulders. Need a more sitty-uppy machine tbh.

8. What do you look for in a motorbike? (eg. Comfort, handling, power, looks etc...)
In retrospect, having had a sports style bike, I'd have to say: Comfort first, handling second, looks next, and finally power.

9. Can you see any problems with current motorbike designs? If so what are they?
There's something to suit everybody out there, it's just finding the ideal bike that's the problem.
