Hi Guys

There are a few threads about the HP4 vs S1000RR and other bikes on here and since I am one of the few in UK who actually treid one on the road I thought I'd share my experience.

https://img90.imageshack.us/img90/1377/bcf.jpg

Was lucky enough to get invited by MCN to do the road test - MCN Dec 5th issue, there's even a cpl pic's of me in the mag Mr. Green

Anyway some of the things I saw in different threads about the HP4 was about how similar it looks to the s1000rr, which is true, however handling wise it's completely different creature on the road (Haven't tried on track) .. the semi active suspension may seem like a gimmick, but trust me it's not .. it really works and unless you're an actual racer or something I don't think you'd be able to setup your suspension as well as the bike does automatically.
The light weight (probably mainly the difference in the weight of the wheels) means it has a completely different feel than the s1000rr - steering is so light that you wonder if you are actually riding a superbike - I can definitely recommend a test ride, I was very surprised I think you will be also.

PM me if you want more details on the various new bits on the bike.

I'd say the wieght was the main difference I noticed too, but still the S1000RR is enough bike for most people.

I am pretty sure S1000RR HP4 will sell out soon we've sold all ours.

HP4 is the S1000RR but how it should be. Wink

I'm not forking out £16000 for a bike I can only use a third of it's capabilities.
The S1000RR I have now is Moooooor than sufficient.

If I was going for another super bike it would be one of them Italian Viagra jobbies, Pannigali Panachetta or WevaTF they call it.

The 125 couldn't drive the ABS and Heated Grips would be out of the question.

I've met Michael Neeves a few times at track days and I am not certain but believe he asked BMW who would be a good candidate for a test like this one - preferably someone who uses the bike for road as well as track days and then they suggested me - I didn't need all that much time to decide if I wanted to do the test Thumbs Up
