Hi

Thought I'd start a new topic on here to track my [probably slow] progress on my SS50 5 speed.

I had this on the road when I was 16, until the day I turned 17 when it got put into the damp wooden side shed. That was 7 years ago, so it's been sat a while.

It has had a few things pinched during storage. The rear shocks got nicked for a C90 racer, the top end got taken off (and quite soon after, destroyed, in a tuning exercise).

The engine has never been the most reliable - In 4,000 miles it went pop three times. I managed to destroy two pistons, a set of main bearings and finally the valve stem seals died. This was probably down to the 88cc/cam/big carb/exhaust combination on it at the time. It went quickly, but not for very long.

As it stands.

Plans:
Higher bars - low rise braced alloy ones. - Done, pictures to follow.
Reliable 110 engine.
Convert to 12V.
High level exhaust.
MOT & Tax.

The frame and swingarm are already powder coated, and I don't wish to make this one too nice to ride. I aim to get it on the road as cheaply as possible, with all the spare parts I have, and just use it and enjoy it.

I'm on the look out for original headlight brackets if anyone has any.

More pictures to follow.

The clip-ons are very pretty, but I think I've expanded upwards and outwards since I was 16. Laughing

This forum is intended as a showcase for BCF content. If you have a story you've been aching to tell, knowledge you want to dispense, or a project you feel like showing off - this is your chance. Please treat the following as a guide to what I would like posted here, and how it should be posted. Good luck with your thread!

Ha, sold it on Monday.

In other news, I have a c90 with an nsr125 engine in it. It's all stripped down at the moment though
