Got one today.
Rides to and from work were much better with mist free specs. Thumbs Up

Just sayin'.

When it is installed absolutely millimetre-perfect it is a godsend. Getting it to that stage can be a huge frustration though and can make every putting on and taking off of the helmet a rage-fest.

Just saying. Wink

I've had one for over a year now, piss easy to set up and works a lot better than a pinlock IMO. Also keeps my nose warm in winter Razz

I've had a Foggy liner for at least 8 years. When set up well it is peerless but it takes a lot of faff to get right and I find it makes riding just a bit less fun. I've used Fog City inserts and they've been ok and now I have Pinlock inserts which are, again, OK but they generally mist-then-clear-quickly, rather than not mist at all.

I don't ride much in the winter so I can deal with the Pinlocks over the Foggy, which I haven't installed in my new lid so don't have the Velcro bits in place to hold it.

I keep thinking of buying one but was never sure how good they were. My old HJC helmet used to have a breath guard fitted and it was annoying to say the least, but I've always thought the Foggy ones looked pretty good.

I think I shall invest in one...

Do they work on flip-front helmets, and if not, why not?

Officially no, and I can provide some insight on how they work - two velcro pads stick to the cheek pads in the helmet and another pad sticks to a sticky backed female velcro pad that you stick to the chin bar.

If I'm right in thinking that the chinbar moves independent to the cheek pads on a flip up helmet then that's probably why.

I get it, I hadn't reckoned on the cheek pads being involved. Could you compensate by using more chin bar attachment points?

Are you wanting to flip it up with the foggy in? I can't see it being attached to just the chin bar to be honest, but I'm basing that on just the pictures of flip ups I've seen.

Can't see why you couldn't put it in and just use it without the chin flipped up though.

You can adapt and use velcro, but it still moves much more than full face . Fog mask insert im talking about.

Yeah I was sort of hoping it would simply lift up when the front was flipped.

Try it.

I may have to try one of those. I tend to end up trying to hold my breath or breath as shallowly as possible whenever stationary in cold weather. Pinlock does wonders for the visor but the specs themselves are always a pain.

Think I still have one of these, unused, in a drawer at home - for exactly that reason of frustrating installation.

I feel like I havwe gone back even further, BUT to some it is new as not everyone has been riding since putting newspapers on the inside of their jackets to keep warm or putting bin bags on their feet to keep dry. Remember those press stud visors? Or the wax cotton jackets that smelt like damp dog?

The point of a comunity is that we share knowledge, to some it is old, to others it is brand new.

Its all new to me, and one or two others by the looks. Wink

My mate at work, who hasn't ridden for the past 20 years or so, was quite impressed with this mask.
In fact as he used to ride around in a black leather jacket, ill fitting lid, jeans, Hi-Tec boots and shit gloves all year round, he's amazed that I roll up to work nice and dry and warm. Laughing
