Finally, got my first 600cc bike after weeks and weeks of looking, and I'm grinning from ear to ear today Very Happy

I had gone to this place to look at 4 bikes originally but this one was the only one that really did it for me. My boyfriend has a Fazer so I asked him to take it out on the test ride as he would be better placed to spot any issues. He did find one, it felt like it was going to cut out at lower revs. Long story short, 3 weeks and two more visits later, it was fixed, and I was rather chuffed cos in that time I had found bugger all and was beginning to think I would have to wait til Spring.

The guys at Blazing Motorcycles were massively helpful, really didn't want me taking it until it was running perfect, and were a good laugh as well.

So, the ride back. Well, the drive there the weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky, bit of snow on the B roads so decided we would take the dual carriage ways / A roads back. It would have made the most PERFECT ride back if the weather had stayed like that but unfortunately about 15 mins into the 1 hour and 20 min journey the wind decided to start howling and the drizzle began.

My god I fucking hate drizzle and it's refusal to run off my fecking visor. That coupled with the dark meant I could hardly see a thing, on a few occasions just opening the thing and letting my eyeliner run down my face. The bike though, was awesome.

The difference in acceleration between this and the ER-5 I did my lessons on is immense, it's a lot smoother sound-wise, and the 100cc and the fact that it's done a lot less miles and been bloody well looked after makes a HUGE difference, I feel like I'm on a rocket! It also turns corners really well, I feel I have a lot more confidence on them than on my 125 anyway.

The start of a new love affair me thinks, here's a couple of pics anyway, it has had the original exhaust put on since this, but everything else is the same:

16,000 miles, V reg, £1695, brand new down pipes, full year MOT and 6 months tax, not a scratch on it Very Happy

Crying or Very sad The very thought of that makes me cry! Haha! I think I might get some engine bars though, cos annoyingly, because it's winter and I have a tendency to think 'everything will be fine', you're probably right Razz

Back in the day, when i bought my 1st proper bike, the only thing that stopped me from binning it was the mint condition, custom, stunning, paint work.

Thumbs Up

Oh yes, and a radiator cover, which makes quite the difference compared to my boyfriends, which hasn't Razz Both on 600 Fazers, his is black though, so we're not like one of those sad couples that wear matching outfits, phew!

Cansa you might be onto something there, so long as I keep it clean perhaps my want to preserve it's beauty will stop me binning it!

Not really, it helped me learn how far i could push the bike before the arse would twitch.

Kind of like smoothing out the learning curve.

OH NO A RABBIT *SLAMS BRAKES ON*

They don't look terrible (assuming you're going to get black ones that match the engine + frame)

Yeah I think they're hardly noticable to be honest, thinking of getting these ones once I've got some cash again, buying the bike has cleared me out!

Bars/Bungs are always a good idea.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Not at all Razz

You could be doing 60 they could be doing 40 and you've just caught up to them on said corner, normally you'd be able to slow down but if they decide to slam the brakes on at that exact moment... You know where I'm going with this Neutral

And there's me thinking BCFs pet hate was you.

BTW if you're really from Liverpool, you'd know the correct expression is scally, not chav.

A bit hard to part with it considering Stevie Wonder tattooed it on her.

Very nice. I guess it's useful to have someone who can look it over and check it's ok. That's my biggest worry about buying an older bike.

Also, there's a couple of things missing from the pictures Wink
