I got a 94 XR650l w/ super moto conversion. Took off a worn out 150/60/17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso. It fit fine. I put on a Bridgestone BattlAx 016 150/60/17 and it rubs badly on the chain.

Anyone else have this problem? Would the Diablo Rosso 2 have fit like the 1 ??? I cant find exact specs on anything, and feel like a dumbass for spending 150.00 on a tire that rubs.

Should I go to a 140/70/17 ??? Can you see or feel a difference?

Any help with this would be awesome !! Thumbs Up

It would probably be safer to get another 150/60/17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso. It looks very tight.
If you could see and measure before buying it would be better, even then fitted and inflated it will change shape slightly.

A different profile might slightly change handling but you'd soon get used to it.

Are you sure you got the spacers in the correct sides? (are they sided?).

How much clearance was there before?

I'm not trying to be funny, or to insult you, but are you sure that you've lined the wheel up correctly?

DogGone- I am waiting to here back from Pirelli

Blue sv 650s - spacers r sided and in correctly. There was 1/4 to 3/8 inch clearance before.

Raffles- Been working on bikes for over 25 years. Ive seen people do stupid stuff like leave the spacers out ...etc.
This is just a matter of the new tire being wider. The adjuster is numbered so its pretty hard to not have the axle in straight

Ok, it does seem as if a new tyre is the best way out here!

If it were me I'd try and get one like came off. If not, then 140 does seem like the safer bet. What size is the rim?
