Battery for MOT?

If your bike is electric start, does it HAVE to start on the button for MOT? Or is it allowed to bump it..

My R6 battery is fooked, has been for past month and so I've been bump starting it for ages now... but MOT place won't MOT it unless it starts on the button... fair enough if it's not allowed but I don't see how it's a safety/MOT issue so just wondered if its a requirement to start on the button or if they are just being picky?

Didn't think it was a requirement for the bike to be able to start.

If you need a battery, I've got one I can loan you, came out of a thundercat so should fit.

You don't need the engine running at all...providing the lights work with it off, which they probably don't if the battery is shagged.

Lights and electrics work fine... it just doesn't have enough juice to start and it doesn't hold a charge any more

It happened when I left it for a month with no optimate, Laughing the bike has alarm/immobiliser so it just killed the battery.
