In the space of a couple of years, Google's top search has gone from "Sex/porn" to "What is Love", are we having a "New Romantic" revival?

If you ask me, it's the natural opposite to fear. We were surely once fairly primal creatures, there was no love, we'd just see a female and do whatever we could to get our end away.

Then we began to evolve, with the survival instinct to recognise the bad things, and hence we'd also evolve to recognise the good things too.

Knowing what's safe and what's dangerous is obviously gonna lead to your prolonged survival.

So, we feel love because it represents a safety, and the added bonus factor of continued sex, which is pretty much the meaning of life for all creatures on the planet.

As an interesting side note. When I considered how we obviously evolved this sense of fear, I suddenly realised that humans are only scared of the dark because they learned to recognise the times when they were most vulnerable. Hence, we feel scared of the dark, even in the safety of our own homes, because we still subconsciously think we're gonna be attacked by a wolf, mammoth or dinosaur

It is BS for teenage girls, who spend most of their lives chasing this illusion, reading about it, watching it on tv, and think that this is what life is about. Life is about breeding with someone with good dna and raising successful kids with a better chance to pass down the dna than you. You don't need love for that. That lasts. Love doesn't and dies with you. If you loved or not is irrelevant in the scheme of things.

If people are lucky they out grow this love BS before they make stupid life choices, like breeding with trash.
