Hi everybody,

I have an issue with the wind while riding. Obviously its COLD now and with wind chill my hands get REALLY COLD.
I purchased a pair of under gloves to go underneath my Summer motorcycle gloves (I haven't found a pair of Winter Gloves that I can get my hands into due to their linings) and they help but not as much as I want.

As I said, its the wind chill that is the problem and I thought that if I can get a set of Wind shields that will fit my Yamaha YBR 125cc, that would be great. Smile

Regards
Daniel

people around here say they work very well at keeping the wind off your hands.

Thanks, but I dont really want to go down that line.
I was thinking more of something that look like a scoop that covers the hand grips, i think they are called wind deflectors.

and they wont work.

search the forum for handgaurds and alike.

or wait until someone else comes along and confirms that those scoops on your bars will do very little to help you.

muffs or heated grips (or both) are about your only 2 realistic options.

Aaaaactually, "universal hand guards" (there's your Google / eBay hint) do a decent job of keeping the worst of the wind and wet off of your mitts.

Muffs are better, but the principle is much the same. However, unless you're packing muffs and heated grips, you'll want to think about Zoidbergs - see also "lobster mitts" and "3 finger motorcycle gloves|mitts|mittens".

No where near decent muffs to my mind.

But you could fit the old school dirt bike ones to a ybr. Borrowed yambabe's zephyr the other day and her DIY muffs did a decent enough job.

Mitts and bar muffs are the way, saves a thread later on in life( handle bar grip caned my battery) or a thread on cant turn them off, heated handle bar grips only warm your palms, when in town traffic my opinion is there a waste of time, sorry to be a dick but deal with it, it's part of being on a motorcycle, think of the cheap tax, and no parking fees...
And I'm waiting to get abused on my opinion.

I just removed the hand guards off my BMW and replaced them with bar muffs. Hands are now kept toasty warm whereas the hand guards were extremely disappointing.

Buy winter gloves large enough to fit nicely without being so tight that you can't get your hands in and out of. Cheep ones have shit liners.

Why do you think you have cold hands when wearing summer gloves in winter?

some people on here (myself included) as wind guards use milk bottles, cut them in half and zip tie them where you want! they work wonders, doesnt look to stupid either, its helpful if you dont have proper winter gloves

Oven gloves are about the most thermally resistant gloves you'll get for peanuts. Thumbs Up

I'm more interested in looking cool than actually staying warm and dry.

Until 10 years down the line when looking a bit odd won't matter, you get muffs, stay warm and dry and wonder why you were such an idiot for the last 10 years for the sake of vanity.
