Considering one of these to put in the corner of the car park at work.

Can anyone share any expirience with them, or suggest why they're a great product, no good or just complete shit, im undecided.

Thanks

would your work not allow you to buy a shed? they may work out cheaper.

I had pondered that one, but this caught my eye for the convinience of it.

well at least where you work they're prepared to make a concession for bikes. I had to ask if I could bring my own heater in from home in order to dry my gear on wet days.
they argued about me leaving my helmet on the floor of the locker room, instead of on top of the lockers, which are not attached to the wall and move.
everyone else gets a parking space, I have an area I can put my bike, right next to the smokers. Mad

Maybe it's discrimination, you turn up for work on time every day, but cos you have a bike, and have to dry stuff, your singled out, mm not to happy bout this, and yes I've come across it myself, difficult to answer I would put my helmet in a bag on the locker, if that's where they want it, don't want a cager kicking it across the floor, jacket trousers I would put on the rad, that's covienient, you don't want a work mate to bung it in the toilet for a laugh, maybe you need to tell them whos boss and to leave your stuff alone, or else !!! Jokers only mess for so long, I'm on one now, lol

No experience with them, but that looks like a great idea! £150 is worth taking a punt on too, and if it looks shit when it arrives you can send it back.

securing it to the ground and wind proofing would be the main concern for me.
If the fabric came free from whatever secures it to the ground in high wind, it will push against your bike like a sail and likely push it over.

Just doesn't look very sturdy Neutral
Given that I've not seen on, heard of anyone with one ...
I don't trust it Evil or Very Mad

Meh, will get nicked or vandalised, blown over or the cover will just wear out. Sod £150 for that.

Although not perfect I'd prefer a metal shed for that kind of money. Bit sturdier, bit more secure.

I had one of them...you will want to secure it to the ground somehow unless there is virtually no wind where it will be or you may find its flying away.
Does what it says on the tin, keeps the weather off and the one i had was decent quality...not the same material as most cheap bike covers, it felt more rubbery and was actually waterproof.
Should be able to find a decent one on Ebay for under £100.

Looks pretty decent effort for keeping the snow and ice off the bike.

I got one for £80 on Ebay. I have a few neighbours with them too. I think they are all manufactured from same place regardless of brand name as they are all exactly the same. Leasehold property so couldnt get a shed put down.

Eventually you get condensation on the bike, but nothing like what you get under a normal cover. I never had a normal cover that could keep my bike dry during torrential rain. My bike tent can.

By that comment i am assuming you ride in all but the worst of weather conditions....

Are you planning to ride the bike with that cover on to keep the snow and ice off it?

If you were getting it for protecting your bike while at home i can see the point in buying it otherwise it's a pointless waste of money.

Nope I'll try riding through snow, ice, heavy rain, I have no other option.

Not really since Im at work most of my time and I work odd hours I can see it being a benefit so long as it does its job.

Just not so keen on arriving to my bike to ride it home to discover its covered in snow, frozen rain or bird shite.

Would much prefer to arrive at it and ride away after a quick warm up, not mess about in the dark trying to thaw the bike out.[/img]

At lest you can go to work on your bike, l got a written warning for going to work on mine as it was in breach of the company's health and safety policy, this was after using the bike most days for the past 3 years. Rolling Eyes

How about if you rode in wearing this: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ql3tBzQnVdM/TmwsguaaJKI/AAAAAAAAAeI/41TrVSNNJKo/s1600/bubble+wrap+guy.jpg with a helmet of course!

Seriously though I'm in disbelief, where do you work?

Back to these tents, I've found this on ebay <£75 which, appears, to be constructed from the same 600D material: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Motor-Bike-Folding-Cover-Storage-Shed-Waterproof-Outdoor-Tent-Garage-Medium-/110884337091?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item19d138b5c3

At £75 to me it might be worth a punt.

My old work were similar.

They said it was too loud also, was only a CBR125.

LOL'd and turned up on my dodgy GSXR with the stubby empty can and shereens VFR400 with a Tyga Maggot.

Suddenly, the 125 was silent. Laughing

So....

Arrive at bike, faff around with cover, start bike, wait a bit, ride it.
vs
Arrive at bike, start bike, wipe snow off seat, wait a bit, ride it.

I'm not seeing any benefits there.

I just bought a bike Home from Feelgood this week. It arrived within two days and was a doddle to put together. The cover is attached with A LOT of Velcro. It is unlikely to blow-off.

I will be mounting mine on a sheet of marine ply.

For the money I think it has been a really good buy and has stood through a gale two days ago. Thumbs Up

I ride a TA which is fairly tall so make sure you have allowed for your mirrors. I have to remove my top-box and fitting the disc-lock to the front is awkward, but I'm a fat bastard. Smile

Hmm still undecided.

@ Cansa, I cant see any more faffing than what i use at the moment, just an ordinary.

Reason I'm looking to replace is its not lasted or weared well and has ripped at the mirror areas.

Can anyone recommend a non folding alternative, preferably something that will at least last a year, something durable?

Thanks Thumbs Up
