so I did my mod 1 yesterday, got right to the end with 0 minors.

Then got hit by a 50 mph cross wind during the hazard avoidance.

Basically, the wind cancelled out all my effort to lean right and shoved me right through the cones Sad

Examiner said was some of the worst conditions he'd tested under, and both he, and my instructor agreed there was nothing more I could have done.

really annoyed all the same though. would rather I'd spaffed the whole thing rather than get dicked by the elements.

Was almost blown off the bike during the slalom exercise too. Who's idea was it to put a test centre a few feet from the Irish sea on an open airfield anyway?!

Rant over any way. At least now I know I CAN do it

Bummer! On the plus side, when you retake with winds less than 50mph, it'll feel like a piece of cake.

Shame. Better luck next time. It'll be a dawdle without crosswind.

FIFTY miles an hour? Where were you testing, in a wind tunnel?

Unlucky dude. I had both my mod 1 and mod 2 yesterday. Passed the mod 1 with flying colors, but got a major on my mod 2 within the last 2 minutes of the test for staying right in a dual lane carriage way too long. Wasn't sure if we were going left or right at the end of the road so stayed put, but then a car came off a slip road and tried to undertake which was the safety issue.

I guess next time give yourself a bit more room in the avoidance on the mod 1 just in case.

The same bloke that put Lee-On-The-Solent DSA centre there, I guess. Also with a few hundred metres of 20MPH riding from the road to the centre to catch-out the MOD2 candidates.

Better luck next time. Shame they couldn't declare it invalid and refund your fee.

We were getting gusts of 60-70mph yesterday. It was bloody windy!

They should really have cancelled or postponed the test IMO. Still at least you know you can pass it under normal conditions. Thumbs Up
