Hey

I really quite fancy an old LC. They look cool, and are considered a real classic! Go like fuck too, always a bonus Wink

Anyways, just wonderin if anyone knew how often they need new rings etc. and how easy it is to get parts for them?

Parts shouldn't be a problem cos there's quite a few of them around.

It *will* require regualr maintenance though.

Must say, I do like the RD350, they sound good for a 2-stroke. Saw one down my way in mint condition and thought it looked excellent, gotta be red and white though!

Hi

250LC will do about 100mph true, while the 350LC is marginally faster. Both can be tuned easily, with the 350 being far more tuneable. The 350YPVS is even quicker, somethign like 116~120 standard.

Handling is OK, but by now most probably have shagged suspension. Engines are reliable as standard, but if you tune them then they will blow up at some point. Parts should be a doddle as there were loads made. Think the build quality of the last 350 power valves was a bit dodgy (the made in Brazil ones with twin headlights)

some one i spoke to had an unfaired rd350ypvs it had a scorpion full system and a stage 2 tuning faaaaassssssssttttttttt aint the word for it

I saw one pull up outside my local garage. They look quite nice, even now. Exhausts are really small like a 125 though. And it is a 2-stroke. I'd have one if I could find one cheep enough though. Laughing

I have a rd 350 ypvs 1988 much stronger engine than the lc &
quicker also better handling.
P.S dont buy 1 of those twin headlight brazillian imports the rd 350r
they are restricted & build quality is suspect.
By the way ppl great site but rd's are my thang.

I had two RD125LC one didnt get past 70, the other flew like s**t of a chrome shovel. According to the speedo I got 110(ish) from it.

however looking at the frame number and the Haynes mannual, it did turn out to be the full power USA version of the bike, and it did have an allspeed system on it.

I cant fault the RD's, and I am looking myself to get one and turn it into a streetfighter/drag type bike.

Those were the days! The RD125 was the bike that brought my to Yamaha and sports bikes!! Razz

Hey you bloody lot, having seen this thread im getting more and more tempted to px my Speedfight for an RD350R. The one ive seen is a 94M, with 5500mi. Its the Brazil one tho, and i dont like the big bulbous full fairing on the late bikes, Gimme a small handlebar fairing and a belly pan any day! If the bike was about £300 cheaper id get it tomorrow damn! Trouble is i know i will wanna mod it, and its gonna cost a bit to tune a twin i guess, so maybe il hold out for a traile 200-250cc 2smoke.
