nsr 125 derstriction

Hi wondered what the legalities of derestricting my nsr 125 are. an i still ride it on L's? Do i have to tell my insurers?

Illegal on Ls as one is limited to 14.6bhp - you would technically have to tell insurers but most people don't do them. It's much more fun to ride derestricted. Most cops cant tell whether one's derestricted or not unless they take it apart. The orginal www.nsr125.com site shows how to do it. but in short - illegal on L's and i'm sure others will discuss the implications of it.

If you derestrict it, it will be making more power, which will mean that you are riding a bike that you are not licensed for and are not insured for. If you ring up you're insurance company and tell them it is derestricted, they might laugh or something

Lots of people do it, even with the 33BHP restriction, never heard of anyone getting caught so it is up to you whether you want to I guess.

derestricting is not so easy , rectrictions are everywhere mechanically and electronically . i can guide you if i know your bike type and serial number .

De-restricting a NSR is not complicated. They all have the carb restrictor and the exhaust restrictor as shown on www.nsr125.com and some imports are restricted in the CDi unit.

If you tell your insurance company that you're riding a de-restricted NSR on a CBT then they will then void that insurance as you're not licensed to ride it. Have never heard of anyone having their insurance company find out that it was not restricted either.

you are wrong . not only the cdi is restricted but the RC valves control box is restricted . proof is : at 7800 rpm your valves should be fully open , but they are not , because the voltage provided to servo by the control box is only 4.4 volts instead of 5.25 . also the design of the exhaust make your engine loosing 2.5 Hp , and the roughness of the cylinder transferts loose 3 Hp and plenty of improvment can be done on reed , cylinder hight position , cylinder head pressure and sparkplug . the best power that you can get with the standart de-restriction is 26 hp at the crankshaft , the better with all improvments is 36 hp (28 at the wheel )
