Pretty crazy! If the kid was a couple of kilos lighter or the eagle was a bit stronger, you never know!

I swear, if anything awesome ever happens when I'm filming, I'm not going to drop the camera!

Nothing awesome ever does happen though. Sad

edit, though the slo mo action replay had it all so I should probably shut it

Can't believe the kid became airborne briefly!

A few kgs lighter and at best the kid would have been dropped from a great height, at works he'd have been eagle food.

A mongolian eagle would have pulled that off no probs.

theres loads of cries that it is fake, Im not sure but if it is it,s very good. I watched the slo mo of the grab and the "dummy" brought its head forward slightly as if flinching which is what people do if they hear something behind them unexpectedly. and the legs and left arm movement mid air looked real enough.

As for birds of prey not making mistakes, young ones can and do, the unusual puncture wounds in one of my cats hind quarters was caused by a young buzzard possibly confusing her with a rabbit, her and her sister are long haired tabbies. This hadnt crossed my mind until I spotted the other cat tearing through the farm yard with a buzzard swooping at her a few weeks after the other cat had got punctured in three places.

Herp, I've got footage of a kid being grabbed by an eagle, I'ma post it on YouTube rather than sell it to the local news rag, derp.

In other news lightsabres are real, I saw that on YouTube too. Who would go to the immense effort to fake something like that?

Can't be real. Jeez if a golden eagles talons gripped you I think there would be a bit more crying than that.

Birds of prey use the speed of the 'strike' to drive their talons into the prey. This is normally enough to damage vital organs and kill the prey for bigger birds. (Smaller bird nip the back bone with their beak.)
The claws also have specialized tendons which are barbed and lock when the tendon sheath contracts around the tendon. That is why falconers wear thick gloves as the bird has to close it's claw slightly to enable it to 'un-lock' the sheath from the tendon.

The bird probably dropped the prey in that clip as it wasn't 'locked on' properly.

It got the prey off the ground easily and could simply have lifted it off if it had a good grip.

I would have slapped the mothers face for leaving a baby on the ground so an eagle could get it. Smile

Looks good on your CV to have made a video with sufficiently good effects to convince people it's actually real Wink

Yeah..great fake that....Only a numpty would fall for that. [shifty]

Thinking it through.....I remember the replay showing more detail than the normal speed clip at the beginning of the vid...Then I clicked cool and went on my merry way....I'm the type that shouldn't have access to guns.
