First thing I would do is take off how much you paid for it and especially when you go on to say its been dropped a few times.

You wont get anything for the extras. Just because you liked them doesnt mean they are worth extra.

Stick it up there for the 1200 and see what you get.

I listed it for £1200 and ive had no interest. Maybe it's the pics but although what i've paid doesn't really play a part, the bike owes me about £2000. I need the bike gone so i can get myself a thundercat. Do you think £1100 and better pics will quicken the sale?

Well, I've bought a 2008 bike for around that price.

I've paid nearly half what you want for an 07 125.

It is optimistic, having no interest usually means its a bit pricey, add to that Christmas is where no one has any funds left Laughing

Your bike is fairly old, there are 2000/2001 models going for around that price. Chuck a few hundred more in there and you have yourself an 06 one...

Fair enough but it's only had 2 previous owners and its low mileage, the few ive seen that are 2000/2001 either have something wrong or look tatty. this bike hasn't got a spot of rust on it but i guess buyers consider age as a big factor. With the mx gear, a new spare front tyre, original parts and the aftermarket parts i listed what do you think i should list it for?

Thats the thing with extras. You could throw thousands of pouds worth of extras and when it comes to selling it doesnt mean shit. Chances are it will get changed for something thats more to their taste.

Saying it owes you money because of the money you spent on it is like saying your landlord owes you rent back because you spent a night round your moms.

You've had no interest because of several reasons. Your picture is terrible. If you seriously want to sell that bike then you need a set of good quality pictures, including highlighting the damage thats done to it, if any.

As said before, you have already given the price you bought it for. Thats a big walk away point. As a potential buyer my thought would be. "Ahh he paid 1300 and he wants 1200 for it and he's dropped it a couple of times." and there I would walk away. Thats without thinking a new throttle cable means its probably been ragged.

Reading a bit more you've given figures. Look:

When was the piston/piston rings last done?

It may only have 12k or something on there, but at over 15 years old I'd be expecting a change or 2 Thumbs Up

Thanks for all that info mate i just lowered the asking price to £1,000 which is rock bottom any lower and il probably keep it until summer.

Tomorrow i will take more pics, that pic was the only one i had on my phone so it's a bit crap and i will change the description as i agree it's a bit of a story and quite off putting lol.

If it don't sell on Gumtree or here then i will list it on ebay atleast then i've got a guaranteed sale, i NEED a thundercat :p

Not sure as i haven't done many miles on it and it rides smooth, no mechanical issues so far. Im guessing the previous owner did because he is always rebuilding his Fireblade whenever i see him. There's a lot of receipts too so probably some clues in there somewhere.

New part time job means commuting 30 miles on motorway so the fairings will do nice and i'm 18 so can't afford a car. I got a decent insurance quote on one too, a lot better then other 600's i was looking at e.g. Honda hornet. I love everything about them, i've wanted one since i was 16 and always been a fan of its big brother r6. *day dreams* Wink

I can say that the Thundercat was a good bike... but I think for all round working on, it is a right cow.

If I was to have looked harder, I could have found the same price insurance TL1000S which would have roughly the same speed, but deliver it in a much more bad ass way

Lovely bike! I can insure the 'cat for £700 which is actually great compare to my other quotes although still expensive. I know they are quite bland and there is better out there but the insurance on a 1000 would rape me at my age, i couldn't even get a quote for a cbr600f oh wait.. i got one offer for 8 grand third party 0.o

How much did you pay? If you don't mind me asking.

£280 insurance! Im jealous.. I will do a quote on the tl1000s then but usually people get good quotes on the cbr600fs too but i think my age plays a big part.

Yeh uhh that won't be a problem for someone that can't get the wheelie a inch off the ground Embarassed
