Went go leave this morning to go to the families, couldn't find my key.

Que panic mode!

Run out to bike, Key is in the ignition with it turned ON!

It had been sat in the back yard since 4pm yesterday till 10:15 this morning with the ignition on.

Luckily the only light was the neutral LED and it started up just as normal. PHEW!

Parked my bike in a pub car park for 3 hours once with keys in ignition, lucky it was still there tbh. It's my routine now to pat my pocket to make sure my keys are there every time I walk away from the bike.

I got distracted because the dog had got into the kitchen and raided a bin, so I think thats why I forgot them.

I'm surprised it started, I did it once in a campsite in france - well actually the lights weren't even on but the ignition was, as I'd stopped it in gear with kill switch as it was a slippy grass slope.

Next morning was a bit slow as I had to remove battery and walk a mile to a garage in town - who charged it for me for nothing.
It was completely flat so I thought it a bit risky to even try jump starting.

I did the same, but with the lights on. In full daylight, so I didn't notice (bike is parked parallel to my window, and non-full beam isn't that bright). Less than two hours later, the battery was flat enough that the starter motor wouldn't engage.

I once did it at work, left the bike in the carpark, turned on for over 10 hours. Headlight was on so the battery drained. Luckily it was the 125 with the kickstart and started first time, didnt even try the leccy ignition.

Does everyone turn off their bikes with the Killswitch then? Since you've all left the ignition on when leaving the key in...
I left my key in a couple of times overnight but always with the ignition off because that's how I turn off the bike...

I'm lucky enough to live in a place where we haven't had to lock the doors once in the ten years I've been here. I haven't walked away leaving the keys in, but I do tend to be careless with security. No disklock, no steering lock, no anchor, nowt.

Gonna be tricky when I need to start locking up properly.
