What are people doing for new years?

I kinda feel like I should go out, but don't want to pay rates for taxis for the sake of a branded day

But I'll feel like a sad cunt if I do nothing.

Probably end up at Gala like most nights out Rolling Eyes
Shitty leicester is shit. Plenty to do if you're a lesbian-looking indie student, otherwise not much Thumbs Down

I really don't know.

It's just cold and wet and gonna be £50 and I will feel like shit tomorrow.

Or I could just stay in and blaze a fat one and ejaculate as big ben strikes 12.

Going round a mates for a curry and a shit load of ale.

Am I fuck:

Paying to get in to a pub
Waiting in a 20-deep queue to get served
Not sitting down all night
Not being able to hear conversation all night

When I can sit on a sofa, eat a load of curry, drink a load of cheap ale and probably fall asleep before midnight.

Thumbs Up

Going to the Thames Thumbs Up
The benefits of living in London and transport being free tonight, bought a litre bottle of Russian standard from Sainsburys for £13 to accompany me, it's gong to be a cheap NYE.
I always have found it to be such an anti climatic point of celebration though, always a bit of a let down.

It is currently raining too Sad

Edit: why have I seemed to hotline to their website, I do not approve this lol.

£50 is the price of a night out as i've always said, oddly. That's a weeks worth of 'entertainment'

Yes I feel your latter bro.
Gonna see if a girl wants to come smoke and drink at mine or something...don't really wanna clean up though Rolling Eyes Razz

Nope. Been out 5 times past 2 weeks, all I'll see are my mates who I see every other day. Saving my money for Amsterdam, so double incentive.

Nothing wrong with staying in IMO.

£5 spent on 3 bottles of Stella Cidre. That'll do for me. I don't get suckered into going out and paying entrance fees on shite clubs where the drinks are twice the price as normal. Laughing

I used to though.... Embarassed

Even though I'm going out I could happily sit in, I think new years is always the same though, one half of you wants to just chill out and the other feels like going mental.

Last year I chilled so this year I'm going nuts, had a fairly crap year anyway so need to see it out with a bang. NYE is always over rated though and if you go to any generic pub or club it's full of bell smacks who can't handle their drink.

The last decent new years eve we had was on the millennium, when all the pubs decided to charge £40 for the privilege of entering them. We thought fuck that. So we built a pub on the field behind our houses, I had a mate who worked on the demolition, so he brought loads of ply and planks, (a full truckload) and some seating from a cinema they were demolishing. It took four of us two days to build it.
Another mate "borrowed" some tarpaulins from work, and we blagged some space heaters.
A guy volunteered to do the music, and we charged everyone a fiver (that included drinks).
Was a great night, everyone could bring their kids along, everyone contributed some food and more drinks, and being on top of a big hill, we got a free firework display afterwards.
The landlord at the local dropped the ticket prices down to a fiver, but it was still dead all night in there, serves him right, the greedy twat.

Tonight, I will be staying in, watching some movies, and slowly getting pissed, probably asleep by midnight.

You're going to the bingo?

My Brother's coming though with his kids - just made a huge curry that'll sit in the slow cooker until we're ready for it.

Will probably head down to the local for a couple before heading back for the bells. My old man has provided a few fireworks to round off the evening.

Probably sound like the most boring bastard here but I actually offered to work NYE (11pm-7am), either go out n get wasted and spend stupid amounts of cash or save the money and earn double at work....money wins at the moment especially with the need of a new bike.

Would have probably just spent it with the gf though and chilled out

It's tomorrow that I'm pissed off with, I was going racing at Cheltenham but its been rained off. Tomorrow was the only one I could get to before Festival Week Thumbs Down

Not going out, staying in & reading PHiKAL. Seems like a better alternative to pissing £100 up the wall.
