Looking for NEW OLD ENGINE FOR '81 Suzi GSX 250, what fits!!

Hey Guys,

LOve the workshop..

Have probably caused major heart attack in my '81 GSX 250 SUZUKI.

One afternon thought l'd tighten down tappets, using the manual guidelines.

And replace the cam chain tensioner spring with a new one.

Made a terrible noise, but qucikly stop making ANY noise.

Has not made any noise since l pushed it 3 km home!

But l am needing to change over engine and my question is

WHAT ENGINE CAN I PUT ON THIS BEAST?

ARE THERE ANY OTHER MODELS/YEARS THAT COULD CHANGE OVER?

NEED TO GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD WHILE THE SUN SHINING IN MELBOURNE!!

EASY CHANGE OVER ENGINE.... UPTO WHICH YEAR COULD BE USED

U could check out the suzi four hundred engine,and keep your eye out for the custom model n take a quick peek at new chinesy customs,

failing that u could do far worse than taking engine out ,fixing the camchain on the tight teeth n rebuilding the head,,,,,,why is this post been sent to Kraderland?

The GSX 250 was a crap bike anyhow! I know things are $$$ in aus but might be better breaking what's left and getting a better bike anyhow or are you still on a provision license ?
