Couldn't find a thread, figured someone would have started one... unless you count christmas confessions, but that's not a real thing and is just a load of blokes talking about how they fancy hugh grant Rolling Eyes Razz

Resolution:

Already trying to loose a bit of weight .

New years resolution is to have more leisure time for whatever and not just bikes.
Spent far to much time in 2012 working for the dollar and not nearly enough time for me/us.

Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, boldly go where no borg has gone before.

Having given up smoking a while back and having lost 2 and a half stone (and more importantly succeeding in keeping it off) I can steer clear of the usual resolutions.

Instead I have a couple of goals this year. The first is to get the BSAC sport diver course done (thus completing the transition from PADI to BSAC) and the second is to get my standard of skating up to scratch and play as a fully fledged member of the uni's ice hockey team.

Fingers cross the dive course will be running this month. As for hockey, I go to full kit training with the team as and when they train and I skate weekly too, so hopefully by next semester (September), I should be there.

Fuck it... What's a new year without a resolution eh? My new year's resolution is to have a functioning two wheeler in time for the BCF annual BBQ, and to not be a volvo wanker at this year's do.

Don't really do 'resolutions', prefer goals.

I lost 5 stone in 2012, so the goal is to keep it off and to get fitter. Maybe dig the pushbike out and try and get into that a bit.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through my microlight licence at the moment, so the goal is to finish that and fly a lot. Got the bones of a jolly to Scotland in my mind.

Think about the '5 year plan' a bit and start working on getting where I want to be in a few years time, rather thn just cruising along.

If there's a resolution in there, it's 'don't sweat the small stuff'. Better work/life balance required!

Yeah I noticed I put 2012 when I read mikes thread, but seeing his makes this one redundant entirely anyway

You know what I meant anyway, if you thought I was referring to last year when it's just gone new years then you're the silly one Wink

nice save alpha

Some interesting stuff.

I've just vow'd to myself not to waste so much money on fast food / KFC etc, while at work.

I go to work to earn money, not fucking spend it all. Laughing

Will be saving roughly £150 a month by doing that. And it will also do wonders for my gut!

Also doing similar, no more ordering of food.

I worked out I spent £918 on takeaways online.

Probably spent half of that on energy drinks and fast food in town too.. so nearly £1500 a year on shite.

Last years resolution was to quit smoking, which i did. I'm still shocked even now...

This years i guess is to actaully start using the Ducati that i bought in May, did 200 miles on and then parked up because i developed balance issues.
I think i'm over it now, so no excuse to not ride.

Last year my goal was to learn to ride a motorbike, and I did, so this year I feel I should have some kind of achievement to aim for again, but I'm really struggling to pick just one, and I know what happens when I take on too much - I end up doing none well Rolling Eyes Anyway, in the hope that I can manage to do all of these, or at least manage to pick ONE and do it well, my current list is:

• Get super fit (I need to lose weight first, but I don't just want to lose weight, I wanna be properly FIT)

• Put some serious effort into becoming a self-employed graphic designer instead of working for (and making all the money for) someone else

• Learn the harmonica properly, not like the half arsed effort I made last year

• Go on a long journey on the bike - this one I need Mr Yaigi on board for though or it will be lonely and I can't go on holiday without him 2 years on the run, that's just mean

Basically though, I need to stop procrastinating, stop playing so many computer games of an evening, and spend less time on here Razz

Made one about 15 years ago. Someone asked me what my resolution was at the time and I said "never to make anymore"

So far I havent.

Look at it another way. All those fools that decide they are going to give up smoking, get fit, do this, do that, do the other. All bollocks because its one day of the year that you are supposed to make these things up. If you are ready to do any of that you do it because you want to not because its a new year.

Its the wrong time to decide to make these potentially life changing decisions. Which is why most of the time they fail within a month.

I'm not too hot on goals. Got a degree in Underachieving. Cool Confused
I do have lots of ideas, some of which actually happen in the real world and not just in my noggin.
I got into biking by mistake, my daughter was a mistake (best mistake of my life). Played a gig on the back of a 40' trailer with a group of addicts..I met them by mistake.

All that waffle aside....I've just been offered to ride with a group of strangers touring Wales for 4 days in May.

I feel a mistake happening.

Lose weight. I'm killing myself with takeaways and eating shit so I'm cutting it all out. No takeaways, no chocolate, max of 1 bag of crisps with a sandwich (used to have up to 6...). No fizzy drinks except zero-sugar ones, mainly going to drink water. More exercise!

Going well so far.

Getting a "proper" job would also be nice. I earn enough working for my dad to not claim dole, but a part time job would fit in nice with that and earn me some more money.
