Just wondering if any bike fanatic can help me, ive got a speedfight 2 70cc i have serious idle problems with it and its starting to piss me off big time, ive tryed everything with it new carb inlet gasket had all the carb stripped down cleaned her out throttle cable worked fine, new choke aswell as there automatic, but the damn thing is still a pain! i come to start it fine, fires up and ticks over okay then i can pin the throttle a few times and the revs come back down instantly and works normal then after about 30 seconds to a minute, when i pin the throttle again the revs stay up and are delayed on coming back down its asif its making it worse as the bike gets warmed up and asif its getting to much air, there are no visible cracks anyway and messed about with the air screw to a happy medium state but still the bloody thing carrys on keeping revs on when the throttles been pinned, and the revs slighty get higher when its warm while left idling, someone told me it may be my crank seals but they're only a year old and surely they would expand when warm? this wouldn't cause the problem i have? i use to ride the bike everyday and since i passed my driving test the bike was left stood for a month until i sold it then i started having all these problems but the bike was fine before i left it stood could somebody who knows please email me or reply on here coss its doing my bloody head in, cheers!

Air leak or throttle tube in the carb is getting stuck.

Air screw all the way in, back it out 2 turns.

Didn't even bother reading that.

If you want a response please restructure it into proper paragraphs with better grammar and refrain from using bold text. We've already clicked on your thread, making it bold won't make us want to read it more.

+1

I had the same problem although doesn't sound as bad as yours and it was the throttle cable getting stuck where it goes in the carb

I'd agree with the above, although throttle cable often sticks in the seperator, where one cable goes off to carb and the other to oil pump.
The fact that it has a 70 kit means you are probably using a higher ratio of 2 stroke oil/petrol.
If you are premixing you may need to give it a good shake if you leave it standing for a while as the oil and petrol seperate and this will also cause the above problem.

So, air leak, throttle slider or cable sticking or oil/fuel seperation.
Bingo........ Wink
