A parent told the newspaper one girl fell into a trance after being possessed by the goblins.
The parent, who declined to be named, said: 'I think that the pupil was possessed by demons.
'She fell into a trance and then all of a sudden she started screaming and kicking into the air vigorously for about five minutes.
'She did not say anything during the fit.
'When she recovered, she said she had seen a baboon trying to slap her.'
The Bulawayo Chronicle reported that the girls believed the goblins were only visible to their victims.

A staff member, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said the supposed attacks had started earlier this month.
She said: 'This problem started two weeks ago when two pupils were attacked.
'We did not consider it a serious issue until more girls were attacked.
'We have since sent the affected pupils home to recover under the custody of their parents.'
Another witness told how one girl collapsed after supposedly seeing goblins accompanying her teacher into the classroom.
The witness said: 'She started screaming when her teacher entered the classroom.
'When she recovered she said very short human beings were accompanying the teacher.
'The pupil said the human beings turned into baboons.'
Local education officials confirmed they had launched a full investigation into the bizarre incidents.
Education inspector Patrick Dube told the Bulawayo Chronicle a government team visited the school last week.
He said: 'As a ministry when we hear issues we investigate.
'We went to the school on Thursday to investigate and we are yet to establish what is really happening at the school.'
The belief in supernatural beings remains common across many parts of Africa, including in the southern part of the continent where the majority of people balance Christianity with traditional beliefs.
Some communities continue to live in fear of a small sprite known as the Tokoloshe.
The mischievous creatures are believed to lurk near human settlements and can be invoked by witchdoctors to create bad luck for others.

Bulawayo's thirty-five passengers aboard an Old Pumula bound commuter omnibus should be thanking their gods after a prophet removed what was said to be a goblin from the vehicle which was apparently on a mission to kill them.

The prophet is reported to have come running just before the (Coaster) commuter omnibus departed Basch Street Bus Terminus in Bulawayo, popularly known as Egodini for its destination and instructed the driver to stop the vehicle. After the driver stopped, some passengers shouted at him, telling him to get moving. However, he decided to take heed of the prophet's instructions.

The man of God identified as Prophet Amos reportedly told the driver that everyone in the vehicle was going to die in an accident as one of the passengers had a goblin. Thereafter the driver ordered all the passengers to disembark with their belongings as the prophet wanted to perform an exorcism operation.

Prophet Amos is said to have entered the commuter omnibus and came out carrying what he claimed was a goblin which he found stashed under a seat behind the driver's seat.

"People scurried for cover as the prophet came out with the goblin. A few brave ones got closer to catch a glimpse of the 'super natural' creature, but were warned by the prophet to move awa as the goblin was very dangerous," said a vendor who declined to be named.

It was a fight from there on as the prophet struggled to kill the goblin. After a few moments, the alleged goblin blew up and there was smoke which reportedly led to the crowd running for dear life. Upon the smoke dying down, the crowd returned and demanded to see the goblin and their wishes were granted by Prophet Amos who later disposed it in a storm drainage situated in the terminus.

"The thing was scary but I am happy the prophet managed to kill it and save lives of the passengers," said an onlooker.

Prophet Amos is said to have been mobbed by the crowd after performing the act with people asking for his number. He later got into a taxi and left the scene. The driver of the commuter omnibus confirmed that the alleged goblin was removed from his vehicle.

"I don't know what happened. Anyway I have nothing else to say," he said.

Our news crew managed to track down Prophet Amos at his Nketa house.

"I was on my way from Mbalabala. While I was about to board a kombi to Nketa a woman from Pumula phoned me and said she wanted prayers so I changed my route. When I got where Pumula kombis rank, I felt that something was wrong in one of the Coasters which was about to leave. I then told the driver to stop the vehicle before I put on my regalia and removed the tokoloshi from the vehicle and destroyed it. I did not ask to be paid afterwards because I was doing what God sent me to do, which is saving people," narrated Prophet Amos. - BMetro

IN a bizarre incident, a 17-year-old girl from Nkulumane in Bulawayo, is living in fear as she is mysteriously followed and hit with stones by suspected goblins .

The haunted girl, Ms Zanele Ndlovu, of House number 12787 Nkulumane, is living a nightmarish life as the suspected goblins follow her everywhere and hit her with stones before they disappear with her money.

In an interview, a tenant who shared lodgings with her, a visibly shaken Mr Admire Bhiri, told a harrowing story how the drama unfolded.

“Last Friday evening Ms Ndlovu came here where she was a tenant and told us that she was being hit by stones. She asked for a room in order to seek refuge as the beatings were continuously affecting her even at her mother’s place.

“As we were seated in the dining room, everything was normal but around 9 pm she started screaming saying something had crept in the room, but we didn’t see anything. From then stones were thrown from all angles yet we didn’t see the source. Even in the morning the mysterious stones appeared and started hitting her,” he said.

The suspected goblins are said to become more aggresive each time the girl attempts to run away.

Mr Bhiri said they asked her what was going on but she professed ignorance insisting she was clueless.

“We asked her what really was going on but she couldn’t say anything. She sought assistance from prophets but they had failed to help her stop the problem.”

Mr Bhiri added that at one time Ms Ndlovu’s money mysteriously disappeared from her wallet.

“What is happening here is very strange because sometimes she misplaces her money and later on it reappears. This is worrying because she claims to see things that none of us in the house can see,” he said.

Mr Bhiri took the news crew to one bedroom where he pointed areas where the stones landed and how even wardrobe drawers were flung from corner to corner during Ms Ndlovu’s attack.

One of the tenants at the house who requested anonymity said she suspected Ms Ndlovu had an idea of what was happening to her.

“I think she wronged somebody who is revenging. She must be honest so she can be helped. It’s quite weird that these things just attack her for no reason,” she said.

When contacted for comment over the phone Ms Ndlovu said she was at a church service seeking God’s intervention.

“I am in church right now to try and solve this problem,” she said.

Mr Bhiri added that they reported the matter to the police who were out of sorts on how to deal with the case.

“The police advised that she must seek help from all corners and we should update them on all the developments,” he said.
