Removal of Socket Screws for tail tidy

I've been trying to fit a tail tidy on my CBR today and ran into a problem trying to remove the four socket screws that attach the Honda license plate bracket to the rear of the bike.

These screws take a 5mm hex key but my standard alan keys just cant get enough leverage and I'm doing damage to the bolt in the process.

They seem to be really tightly screwed into little square plates beneath and wont budge. The restricted space within the seat well doesn't make it to get at them either.

Any ideas what I should do to get rid of the little buggers or what tool would be best suited for the job?

If your just using normal Allen keys then I would put the short side in the bolt and then get a socket that the Allen key will fit snugly in and attach a long extension bar onto the socket.

This will give you a lot more leverage if you press down at the end of the extension bar and it should easily undo. To do it properly get a hex socket or the more expensive/longer Allen keys with handles.

make sure you are using good quality allen keys as the cheap ones can be a bit soft and damage the socket. Dont know where you are or I would offer help
