Hi All,

Just got my bike back from the garage after waiting 3 months!!

Riding it around London for 20 minutes & I noticed the engine was really sluggish & I had no acceleration past 20 - 30 mph.

Is this because the bike has not been turned over for a long time?

FYI the work I had done was to have the entire front end replaced, so they should not have meddled with the engine at all I’d have thought?

I need to ride the bike from London to Brighton tonight & any advice would be greatly appreciated before I set off in 4 hours.

Cheers,

Jon

Why did it need the "entire front end" replaced?

Throttle cable ok? Brakes not rubbing? Idling ok? Chain adjusted properly?

Been serviced recently?

A learner driver pulled out in front of me, I snatched the breaks and went down.

I bent my forks & my bars were completely worn down due to skidding along the road.

It’s been hell trying to find replacement parts & I’m chuffed that I have finally got my bike back.

I got them to check the clutch cable in the garage but I have not checked the breaks.

Cheers for the feed back.

Jon

Check the carbs seated properly. I didn't do it properly in the early days once and I had the performance of a 50cc ped Laughing
