I know noone from the forum will have found it, but just on the off chance some good citizen has found it and googles for it, this thread may show up in the search.

Today 4th January 2013 I lost my GoPro camera in the Leagrave area of Luton. Probably just off the Leagrave High Street. It was on the suction cup mount rear facing on my bike when it went bye bye at some point. Wasn't in pieces when I retraced my route so looks like someone did pick it up.

If the gods have smiled upon me, and the finder is reading this, I'd be very happy if you messaged me on to forum or emailed me (this user name at gmail.com). Either that or watch the video and trace my house Laughing .

As for BCF: commence slagging! Thanks!

Should be ok but make sure you have a lanyard or something... A Wii remote strap is good.

Before today, I thought it was really good, very secure and I've put it through all sorts. I probably put it on shoddily or didn't double check it was fixed properly. I'll always use a tether in future.

It was your post a few days ago in the other thread re: how good suction mounts are, that actually made me think BS! Laughing (You said they're ok on the side of a plane)

I know people sing their praises but I'd never trust them as the only method of securing, you need a backup like string and a clip if the worst happens. As you probably just worked out for yourself. Confused

I've had it on the car doing very fast speeds on German autobahns, right down low on the wing too. Problem was, on the back of the bike the surface was ever so slightly curved and a few mm too small to actually fit the whole cup on. My fault entirely but I'd still trust it on a suitable surface. It always pays to have a back up!

I've had triple figures on the speedo using a suction cup but i use a bungee cord which i've bent the hooks into rings around the clamp bolts just as a precaution in case it jumped off.

I find putting it over the edges of stickers and the like causes insecurity.

My suction cup's come off before. Fortunately I found it in pieces. Put it all back together and it was fine.

I don't trust the suction pad at all so I use a bit of that really thin bendy wire stuff and secure it to a bolt or something close.

Hope you get it back though, stranger things have happened on here.

I had the same thing with the suction cup on my zx10r but it hit me in the nuts so managed to keep a hold of it.

Now i either mount the gopro to my helmet on the side or i mount it on the bike with one of these, its a 25mm to flat surface you can use your gopro sticky pads to.

You need to do one of those adds that says thjat you don't care about thge camera, but the pictures mean everything to you, get them to send the pictures back then see who picks it up and now you will know who has your camera.

I added a poll just for interest. For some reason, I am the sort of person that would get a kick out of going out of my way to return property. Be it a phone, camera, wallet or whatever, I'd do anything I could to get it back to the owner. Wouldn't be bothered about a reward, a person's gratitude and thanks is all I would need.

Not everyone is like this though, would anyone not give a damn or not be bothered if they found something?
