My Mod2 was cancelled on the 21st Dec but i've yet to receive a new test date. The email notification just had a link to a booking tracking page at dsa but as I have no booking there's nothing to track or anyway I can swap to a cancelation to beat the Jan 19th cut. Fuckin DSA! How long do they get for hols at new year! Gggrrrrr

After my test being cancelled 3 times and being left in limbo I called and was lucky enough to get a date. Give em a call.

Maybe the email containing a link to the dsa booking page was a hint to book it yourself rather than sit back waiting for a retest date to come through from them?

Think youve missed the boat unfortunately, unless you are willimg to travel to one of the very few places left.....

Maybe ring a few schools as they may have pre booked spaces left and if you agree to a few lessons beforehand they may take you on.

At the minute its a case of any port in a storm...so you'll have to really put yourself out if you wanna pass before 19th.

Best of luck anyway.

My thread has a phone number for them... watch this space

Edit: Fuck me that took forever to find
FUCK ITS NOT EVEN IN THAT THREAD ARGH WHERE DID I PUT IT?

I posted the number like "for future reference because it was a cunt to find"

Well fuck that was a waste of time.
I found it "01162780793" which is obviously a Leicester number as i recognise the area code, so is likely the wigston test centre rather than what you need...they might be able to help though

Check your original booking email, phone number will be lurking in there

Thanks Puma I will trawl back through my booking emails see if there's a number there. I tried going through the booking site but it assumes I have no booking to rearrange yet as dsa has not sent one out for me to get changed. Its like some perfect beurocracy! Brazil!

There is a point where you're just making excuses.

+1 to the above Thumbs Up

When I missed my Mod 2 because my own fault and had to re-book I used the number above and got a test date just 4 days later. I did not have to wait 10 days as I never sat my test to begin with. If you are ever going to get a new date before Jan 19th ringing that number is your best bet Smile

I'd suggest ringing hourly. Depends on how much you want the test I guess.

You've probably missed out on a test slot. Its not like you have forever to do your test. You have 8 days.

You have Snowie's syndrome, Booze...
Panic... sit fretting over panic... moan that this kind of crap gives you so much 'stress'.... continue stressing until it's too late to do anything.... problem solved. and you can remain in your little safe-space doling out excuses!

Roger found you the telephone number in 30 seconds...

DON'T - PANIC

[Stephen-Fry Voice]Your an Englishman for gawds sake! We didn't win India by going all to pieces in the face of a the natives! We didn't win at Waterloo by going all to pieces when the Belgian boarder patrol asked to see Wellingtons travel papers! Pull yourself together man! Find some spine! Stiff upper lip and a brilliant moustache upon it! Remember Walter Raleigh, Did he start running around like a headless chicken at the sight of the Armada! Oh no! Tef your quite right and its not worth stressing over. Its not like if I miss the cut I'm going to give up my bike, I will just have to adapt to the new rules. Just the Christmas period totally screws with my sense of time and now that damn date is hurtling towards me. If I miss it I will just have to pull my fiscal finger out and get together the cash to go through a school.

Whilst I have every sympathy for those who may get 'frozen out' by the new rules. I have to ask in this instance. ....whilst knowing exactly when the rules were coming into force, why did it take you 7 months to do your theory test and 8 months your mod1 after doing your CBT in march?

Taking your Mod1 in November was always going to leave things tight...especially knowing that 1) Tests lead times were always going to be long due to demand and 2) winter could mean cancelled tests due to poor weather.

Its now highly unlikely you'll get a test....but its STILL possible if you REALLY REALLY wanted to pass. If youd rung round a few schools last week im sure youd have found one that could get you one of their pre booked mod2 slots in exchange for agreeing to pay for a few lessons beforehand.

If you say cost is stopping you then its false economy waiting cos itll cost much more to pass after january as you will not only have to go with a school, youll have to do it on a bigger bike which will cost to hire etc.

I STILL dont think the window is fully closed yet...but im sure if you desperately wanted to pass before 19th, theres still opportunity. ..but it will take effort.

The reason I took so long was (A) I got bad advice back last March, that the new rules only effected under 24s and (B) I didn't really have the confidence I could pass any test until Sept. Sure I could have gone for lessons but I just couldent be arsed and by the time I decided to get down to doing the Mods it was November. Also its not a priority in life I do have other things to attend to. I have no intention of getting a bigger bike for a while yet anyway so even if it took me another year to get a licence it dousent matter.
