just been for a spin on my bike as i haven't been out over the holiday
and seem to have a problem accelerating
in first, second gear gets to around 7000rpm and starts to feel like its spluttering and wont go any faster, almost feels like its hit a rev limit
its a 92 cbr600f
could it be the carbs need cleaning?

My GPZ did this when it had rusty water in fuel tank from standing. Will normally only do it when on reserve though. It can't harm to check/clean carbs if you know what you are doing. Wink

Carbs very rarely need cleaning - only if they have been standing long enough for the fuel to turn to varnish (years) or they have gotten dirty (pouring mud into your fuel).

It's a CBR600, so reg/rec trouble is a possibility. Charge the battery and see if it improves.

Don't remove the carbs if you can avoid it.
