Anyone think of any bikes with Linear rear shock mounting?

Ok so im researching swingarm/rear shock combos for my bike, and was wondering what bikes run a linear rear shock setup... google is useless, and all i can think of is the FZ6....

anyone knows of anymore, please post!

What do you mean by linear? Do you just mean a single rear shock without a rising rate linkage? If so there are plenty (RD350LC, Diversion, Er6)

Getting it to be perfectly linear would be difficult though.

Do you mean without a linkage? The Honda Bros doesn't have any linkage.

Hey.

When I heard "Linear suspension" and the rest of his post, this immediately sprang to mind:

"This" being the horizontal suspension linkage/design on the newer ZX10Rs and I am sure there is another bike (Maybe an ER6?) with a suspension setup very similar to that that he may have confused for the FZ6.

If he doesn't mean that then I think he either means linear rate springs or a system which means the suspension movement is totally linear i.e. it changes the upwards movement of the swingarm to a perfectly linear movement in the linkage (total guess, does it exist? Not a clue, just a guess) or, as above, a single rear shock without a rising rate linkage.

Hopefully he posts and clears up what he meant. .

Honda Hornet also has a shock without linkages.

Hey guys yeah sorry i wasnt too clear in my initial post!

I do indeed mean a non linkage set up like the one on the zx10 you posted, my FZ6 has it, and am looking into replacing the swingarm, but obviously that depends on shock mounts etc also.

That zx10 setup is drool worthy, going to have to look into that! cheers for the other suggestions guys, and if anyone has any more then please keep them coming!

Doesn't that shock have a linkage? Looks that way down by the swing arm mount

yeah i noticed that shortly after my last post but figured id look into it anyway as its a properly nice looking S/A.

Im only primarily looking at linear S/A setups for ease of modification, ill happily go to linkage when i find something i like enough...

The only bike I've had without a shock linkage was the TZR 125. I don't think this information is of any use to you, mind.

Dirt bikes often have them - most KTMs until the recent 350s have had them and various other similar - CCM has them too.

However, probably going to be a bit narrower than you are looking for?
