So I'm in Glasgow picking up a company car. I was flown from Stansted Essex this morning.

I've been told the car won't be ready till 1 and they said to go and do what I want till then.

So here I am in Glasgow, how can I kill some time??

Aye be careful driving back, speed camera placement there is a bit cheeky at times, once you're back on the right side of the boarder put yer foot down and see what the car can do before they put a tracker on it.

I'm so sorry. Sad

This is what passes for nice weather, I'm just in my jeans today.

Sorry, the only thing I can think of to do in Glasgow is get the hell out as soon as possible.

Mars bar fried in morphine, with brick dust and AIDS sprinkles - then off to the match for a dart in the skull and a punch in the larynx innit.

Subway? You should be eating a haggis supper or a deep fried pizza with Irn Bru out of a glass bottle, and then going to nick the glasses off Donald Dewer's statue.

Or go onto the actual subway and try not to feel like you're going to fall off the narrow platform.

Then go find a slightly unclean Scottish girl and do her up the gary.

Going rate for that is a bottle of Buckfast.

Just so we're clear, nicking the Wellington Statute cone would constitute a casus belli.

Glasgow is the wrong place if you're looking for drugs and aids.
Edinburgh is the place to be for all that jazz.
It's full of 'The English' that's why.... Razz

Glasgow isn't really that dirty or dire. Many people say this but probably refer to historical conditions (they've not really experienced anyway).

I visit many more cities than lots of folk and I cannot think Glasgow is any worsererer than any other city.

Let's try Leeds, Manchester, Hull, Lahndahn, Liverpool, Newcastle.... Before dissing the 2nd City of the British Empire.

I always say to haters, "If you don't like Glasgow there are trains, planes and automobiles to get you home to the smog you came from.

Honestly.. The feckin' English. Smile

Coming as I do from Scotland's first city, I'd be expected to do down Glasgow and those who live there. However, I've travelled to other cities in this fair land, Slough for example, Milton Keynes etc. Newcastle I thought was ok, Liverpool looked quite nice but unfortunately had Liverpudlians in it.

Many people think the relationship between Edinburgh and Glasgow is fraught, it isn't. We in Edinburgh look upon our neighbours in Glasgow as an adult looks upon an errant but indulged child.

Just drove past a sign to Retford.

I read the sign as Rentboy.

Time for a coffee...

Slough isn't a city, it's a mistake. I'm not overfond of Betjeman but he was bang on in THIS poem...

Worst night out I've ever had was in Slough. Bike nicked, barred from the club for telling the bar tender he was having a laugh if he thought I was paying £1 for a pint of tap water and caught in a riot (large brawl consisting of 200+ Sikhs, Muslims and Police officers) as I tried to get to the station at which point an attempted mugging on the platform and then missing the last train when I got in to Twyford and having to walk back to Henley from there Confused
