Hi. Smile

I have a 2001 Hornet. The 'S' version.

I want to fit some 'long stem' mirrors to it but cannot find any for it listed.

I can however find lots for the CBF and CBR. I 'think' they are the same as the ones on my Hornet but not 100%

Could you please have a nosey at yours and confirm to me if they are the same or not.

they look identical to the mirrors on a the pre vtec vfr800's, i'll check the measurements tomorrow if I get chance.

I had the same issue, this thread might be of interest to you...

They have been on my bike since that thread was first posted, they don't fold in or shake, were cheap to make and they make an enormous difference to visibility.

The missing pics are annoying, but they were just pics of the finished product from a different angle. Will repair links if I can find original pics.

As for the first question, 99% sure they are identical to hornet mirrors, will check tomorrow.

Thanks for the links guys. But I am really after some new mirrors anyway due to the 'customising marks' left by the previous owner when she dropped it.

I like customising marks, adds character. Feel free to post them to me Smile could do with spares.


CBR6 F4i/ CBR929 mirrors are 40mm center - center.

Im on my 3rd set. I prefer the later fireblade/600RR versions to the 600F, they have a different pivot.


My current set are chinese made LED copys. The mirrors are almost identical, but the LEDs are useless. If you want indicator mirrors, get OE spec ones from a bike designed with them, they often have a bulb aswell as LEDS:

Fireblades/VFR1200 however no idea if they fit. Some look like they have mounting studs built in, while I need ones with bolt holes at 40-40mm.


I would say this style of mirrors are weak. The stems are always diecast, making them brittle, so they will always snap off rather than move inwards.
Chinese mirrors have thinner, weaker glass. I had to swap glass once already from a slight bump with an empty green bin.
