cbr copy cafe racer project :)

hello peoples

am just starting a cafe racer project using a cbr replica, I thought when I bought it the bike it had a really bad reputation for parts and plastic breaking so what better way to resolve that then taking most of them off.

so far I have stripped the bike down to the frame and engine and cut the rear part of the frame down to suit the new shortened seat pan.I am also lowering the clip on's to suit the cafe racer poise, have new 6" head light that was all chrome but have now painted the rear cover cream as well as the new seat pan, the tank will be painted again in cream and have bought some nice decals from flea bay including some black and chrome checker strip in keeping with the cafe racer style, also exhaust rapped the exhaust to give it a bit of a mean look.

no pics at the moment as still a mess at the mo but they will follow soon

As long as you're under no illusions about the capabilities of the bike, that's OK. As with anything Chinese, the only thing it'll be capable of racing is the inevitable onset of corrosion; a race that it'll lose. Badly.

Still, fair play for having a stab at it. Needs more photos, though.
