I've seen the Black venom boots on Ghost bikes

https://www.ghostbikes.com/products/on-road-gear-motorcycle-boots-all-motorbike-boots/5043-black-venom-motorcycle-boots.html

Has anyone had these boots before? Any info on their kits would be good, I've searched and have only seen people asking about the textile suits they do.

Cheers

No idea on the boots but the gloves were terrible, however you do get what you pay for.

I've got a pair of those very boots and I wore them all summer. Fantastic. I couldnt complain about them. They were a little tight to get on initially round the zipper area but they soon bedded in, as all leather does.

My only downside would be the little air vent which can be seen in the photo just beside the ankle support. Not sure how waterproof that would be but during the summer it did help keep my feet cool. I tend not to ride in the full leather gear in winter and wear work boots in the rain if I have to go anywhere (normally only to work).

I bought them when they first started selling them for £20 cheaper and I really cant fault them.

Thanks Pinkfloyd.

I don't use the bike for commuting but do like to go out often, after work etc. If its chucking it down I tend to not go out, who wants to go and play out in the rain anyway?

I was going to buy those but bought these instead.

Also made by Black this is when I first got them here they are two months later.

Used everyday for commuting kept my feet bone dry in the torrential rain not the comfortablest boot in the world but if you're on a budget they do the job well and get lots of eyes sliding across skulls in traffic. Cool

I almost got those but the sports ones won out over the touring ones but it was practically a toss of the coin that claimed it for the other boots. The pics are great. The worn boots look well worn although scuffed they do look like they have been worn a whole lot and they look like they are still held together pretty well. I have a 9 year old with boots in worse condition after a week of wear.

Why would you buy white boots, surely your boots will be the things getting dirtiest quickest Shocked

I bought Gaerne GRT boots off eBay for £20. Great condition, and ridiculously good boots. But then I am a penny pincher.

Wow after all that use those boots look in good nick! I've had my shitty ones (J&S own brand cheap things) since may and they're falling apart on the toe from the gear shifter and generally look like tat now

personally id stick to a reasonable make, gaerne or sidi, only had disappointment dealing with ghostbikes especially on their own brand stuff, zips that disintegrate, waterproofing not waterproof, soles came away from the boots I had in about four weeks and just generally its low quality stuff made on a budget IMHO.

I've bought many things from GB and never had an issue with any of the items.

Same as reasonable makes. Thats brand snobbery in force. Black is a new make on the market. In a market that is a niche market and not a very big market. Sidi, Spyke, Gaerine, Hein Gerike are all established names in this market and in my opinion theres always room for more. When you look at the price, these Black ones are not much cheaper than the entry level boots from some already established makes.

Every label has to start somewhere. Giving the competition a chance is one of the ways to reduce the cost of the established makes. Besides I've had Heine Gerike stuff fall apart within days before. Not all the established makes are good. Wink

Remind me again what happened to HG anyways? Overpriced recognised name went bust.

Also:

https://www.lidsdirect.co.uk/alpinestars-alpha-touring-boot-1.html

Seem to get good reviews and cheap for Alpinestars. But then, it's a touring boot.

i'm tempted by the cheaper pair of 'black' touring boots on there, my cheapies are starting to let water in and look a bit scruffy after 10k miles

not saying all established makes are good but i've never had a pair of sidi boots disintegrate in weeks when I have had issues they have backed up their product. Where as I have had issues with GBs customer services

Neither have I but then I've never shelled out £200+ for a set of boots when £70 has served me more than fine. Wink
