What if I opened like two - three insurance policy on bikes i do not own.
The reg will be cg 125cc's none runners which belong to a family friend.
The TPO policy will have my real address on it but i will declare to insurance company that i park the bike in a garage in a different location (this area will have a grade A insurance rating).
Each policy hopefully will cost less than £100.

Once this is all done, the extra three no claims bonuses I will earn will decrease my quote by £800 - £1000.
So will this work? Have I missed anything?

You've missed the fact you can't accumulate them in that way - what you'll end up with is 3 x 1 years NCD, not 1 x 3 years.

Cut to the chase.!

How old are you and what dream inter galactic rocket ship do you envisage yourself insuring and riding after your NCB has been gained.?

Advice :- Be practical or you will get reamed mercilessly without lube. BCF does not suffer fools gladly, and if you are a young lad it will not save you. Rolling Eyes

Serious question then regarding this most probably stupid, what is stopping someone getting the 3 month setup (do that for 12 months) so 4 years NCB if cheapish.

Then getting a bike insuring it (so you have one set of NCB) to use in the meanwhile or using your car whatever.

Theoretically you will then have 1 x 4 year NCB and 1 x 1 year NCB if I'm not being stupid. Obviously this all depends if you would make a saving and means waiting a year before you get that bike you are doing this for.

Seriously?

Ultimately, you can only claim one set of NCD.

If you insure four different vehicles with four different companies, when you come to claim your NCD, you will only be able to claim one year with one company, so that's three wasted premiums.

Also is it not illegal to insure the same thing twice?

Did say "Serious question then regarding this most probably stupid" however I was on about the 3month NCB being with the same company like E-Bike (was offered the fast track NCB through them in 2011 pay 3 months and get 1 years NCB). Then doing another after that had finished.

Meh knew it was a shot in the dark anyway.

Ah sorry, didn't know about that deal.

I bet it says in their T&Cs that the NCD only applies if you stay with them (so you can't transfer it to another company after three months) and you can only claim it once.

I've had an insurance company offer a 6 month deal like that for a car once... not sure they would let you cancel the policy just to start a new one though.

I've built up 2x1 year no claims bonus in the past because I couldn't be bothered cancelling the insurance on my scooter when it only had 6 weeks to run, that and the premium was paid in full. It was the same with the intruder, I sold that before the year was up, but didn't cancel the policy as it was near the end.

Yep that sounds good.
All you need do is get a police background report and two receipts from Halfords, scan and attach these to your three proposal forms and Bobs the cross-dressing brother of your mum.

p.s. Do not let on that you live in a mental asylum though. Wink

Thumbs Up

No.

Yourself, maybe... but for others to insure it whilst you insure it. No law against it whatsoever.

Just when it comes to claiming, the person who was in possession claims on their policy, you cannot do the same.
