Snowie has just found this:-
https://i.ebayimg.com/t/Replica-Petrol-Fuel-Tap-to-suit-Honda-CB125-CB-125-CB125T-T-DC-TDE-TDJ-/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$(KGrHqFHJEgE92!f41LtBPo507v5v!~~60_58.JPG
Looking for a new fuel-tap for the Pup.......
This follows on from a little 'Break-down' she had a couple of weeks ago...... she'd filled up, and REMEMBERED to turn the petrol tap 'back' from 'Reserve'....... but err... got it wrong. Which resulted in humorous episode (to me, anyway!), going out to recover her, when I turned it to 'On' and started it with a bump (shed flattened battery trying to start it with no fuel!).... which released a 'tirade' aimed at the local kids who must have turned the fuel 'off' while she was parked outside a call.... until I asked 'Have you been to the petrol station yet?"

ANYWAY..... as a precaution to any meddling little fingers... whether malign or not.... seems an interesting idea.

Extra bit of security when you park up; they cant pull the fuel hose to nick your fuel, as well as extra measure against them riding the bike off.

What do people think? Any-one got one? Seems a good idea for £8!

If they could be made up to match the ignition key then I could see them being good.

Another lock to snap a key in and leave you stranded.

Hmmm...... that is a scenario that didn't instantly jump to mind, I have to admit......

Trying to think back when that last happened to me...... err... no, I MAY be wrong, but I cant recall it EVER happening to me... but that might be because I tend to try and avoid the M6 or any motorway on the bike TBH......

Meanwhile, Snowie...... M6... or ANY motorway? Let alone the 'fast-lane'! Hmm... no I cant see it happening, really.....

But I think the clincher is "the Pup"..... the Suped up 125 Super-Dream......

EIGHTY!

Nev... well.... never say never! But.... Eighty! Shocked

You're right, though. It could catch you out. But, keeping track of miles, I dont recall ever using reserve as a fill-up memo very often.

Then again.... I don't recall ever waking up one morning to find my petrol tank empty from some-one pulling the hose to drain it!

Doesn't have to be on the M6, there are plenty of places on roads where I wouldn't want to run out of fuel and then have to stop to turn on the reserve.

Bad places I can think of; front of traffic lights, front of round-a-bout queue, mid-corner on a busy city A-road, middle of filtering a slowly moving queue etc.

Make more sense if it only locked in the off position leaving you free to change to reserve from the on position.

Gotta agree, before I started buying FI bikes, I was forever reaching down for the fuel tap to slam it into reserve, while kangarooing up the dual carriage way. Laughing

Also if you someone is going knick your fuel, they probably won't have any qualms about putting a screwdriver through your tank. Might even be better to just have a normal hose so they don't damage the tank.
