Battlefield 3...

Is it just me or is it fucking HARD on the PC? Don't get me wrong, I'm ok at PC games, but just downloaded the update that I couldn't be bothered to do for about 6 months, and I get killed from everywhere and anywhere! I know it's a team game, but I have no PC gaming mates, and there doesn't seem to be a mic chat option for easy squad teamwork.

I can't decide which class to be, sniping seems impossible, any thing else and I get killed by some fucker in a tank/helicopter/squad of infantry before I move, and by the time I run to an objective the objective's changed.

Any tips?

play a different game. The battlefield series is traditionally for the nerds that like a challenge. I'm pretty sure the campaign was pretty freaking hard. Well in places at least. Most was pretty easy. But some parts almost impossible

my KD averages at around .75... play a different game? There are no decent shooters at the moment! Blops 2 lasted about 3 days before I got bored, same old same old on the consoles.

Love this game on both the console and the PC.

I dont find it hard but you need to get rid of the COD mind or you will die.

Pick your areas and try not to own the whole map.

Jets are a nightmare to fly for my, helos are great.

Find a quiet server and spend some time taking on small teams you will get your hand in. I always stay away from massive maps unless its vehicle heavy.

Tanks are my past time, love them.

I think it's generally hard across all platforms. Was suprised at how challenging it was on the PS3. Got it for christmas but have mostly been playing multiplayer which is unusual for me as i always complete the campaign first. Much prefer to play these games on the pc though as i'm used to playing with a keyboard and mouse (a controller just doesn't feel right to me) I did buy an eagle eye converter but just doesn't feel the same

practise practise practise!

try and stick with a group, make sure you're supplying them ammo or health boxes, and healing them when they're down

ignore most of the other guns, mostly you will find M4A1, M27 IAR, AK74su most useful, and range accurate and they will get most of your kills, but eventually you'll get the L86A2 with extended mag and thats really handy when you run into 2-3 enemy players as the 60 round mag means you have a chance of wasting them all before you reload

play on noob servers like "fly noobs fly" , they also have an operation metro map with no explosives allowed where you can bladder away with M240, pecheneg HMG's for ages

add me andys350, if you end up on a server with cheats just leave, there's loads of choice!

I find i have 4 bad games and then 1 awesome game, just depends on who you are grouped with. If you get in a good squad that know what they are doing it makes the game so much better and more enjoyable. I normally play engineer or gunner.

It's a steep learning curve, and a game that is better with friends using teamspeak or similar.

The more you progress the better guns you get, which helps.

When I started I found that medic is usually best for infantry maps (just run around reviving people = points), and engineer for armour maps.
