What bike size do you consider small

There has been a lot of chatter on here lately about bike other than 600cc+

I think that any bike 350cc or under could be classed as a small? bike.
I`m not talking about licensing issues or insurance catagories, I`m generalising.

So if you was organising a small bike club/ride out/meeting (and I`m not), what would be your criteria?

Please dont get all self rightious and angry because bigger bikes can do it SO much better, you`re missing the point , and I already know how much quicker big bikes are

That 675 I sat on felt small..and Kickstart's Bimota wasn't small but felt it..He must have retractable shins.

The 250 I run feels small, but it has big balls for a little bike.

Anything with wheels smaller than 15", and I don't have to stretch to grab handle-bar and grab-rail, back of the seat.
I found a 1200 Bandit a bit diddy; but a 535 Virago 'felt' physically larger!?! I don't think engine displacement much comes into it!

You can't go by capacity - there's 125cc trailies that I can't get my leg over, and whilst the Savage is a 650cc, it's physically quite small. Personally, when I think of a small bike, I picture something sub 250cc that as a shortarse I can flatfoot. It also needs to have its performance taken into consideration in modern traffic - my CB250RS could hold its own against most cars, and if I were sticking to speed limits would be unphased by long uphill stretches on the motorway. If you have to adjust your riding style because it can't keep up with traffic, it's a small bike

Engine wise, sub 600.

I wouldn't count that for 2 strokes though, for them I would say 250 is the smallest I would own out of choice.

I'd say 250's or less are 'Small bikes' IMO

Except (proper) offroaders and 2t Sports bikes.

Engine size 650 and smaller is a small bike

Seat height, under 850 mm is small. Like I tower over a large displacement harley and a super bike.

But I would call small is displacement. Height would be a low or tall bike.

I think modern 1 litre sports bikes are pretty small but in the sense I think you mean, anything under 125cc.
Bikes tend to feel small if you get on them after riding something bigger.

For me Sub 500 is a small bike

500-750 = medium (splitting hairs here but if I was forced to I would consider 500cc + to be a big machine)

750+ = Big

I usually go by CC but sometimes use the specification of a bike for its physical size, example I expect a commuter to likely be 'minimalist' so probably small whilst a tourer or cruiser to be larger etc

Less than 125 is small too me. Always felt the obsession with CC size is a British thing that I just don't get.

Not sure on what I define as small. Possibly also relates to what it is used for. A 500 twin is a large bike for cutting through tight traffic, but a small bike for a long motorway journey with a pillion and luggage.

It also depends on the bike.

I mean 250cc is small for a sports bike, and a litre bike is as big as they get, and yet some are so compact that some 250's would be physically almost as big and as heavy.

For an MX bike a 125cc might be considered small for a full size adult machine, but a 500cc open classer would be considered huge by comparison, but size and height wise they could be about the same, and there's probably 15-20kg difference maximum between them.
